With emergence of Connor McGovern & consistency of Looney this OL will get better. Kansas Chiefs got exposed and are in dire need of OL help. Fisher will take 2 yrs to recover and the former center may still not return.

Dallas should trade Connor Williams, Biadasz ,Jaylon Smith & 2nd round pick for DT: Chris Jones. Jones is the missing piece on the DL that can help the unit rebound.

Just—-No.

People on this board claim Biadasz is the next Travis Fredrick who should be starting over Looney l, and C Williams was a top guard who was available all 16 games. If that’s not the case then we should select one of the top OTs in Sewell or Slater if they fall. The only other player worth getting is Fairley at 10 otherwise trade down.
Biadasz may be a good player but I would take Creed Humphrey over him all day long. If the Cowboys have a shot at him in the second round, they should take a really good hard look at him. I think he could end up being better than FredBeard.

I wouldn't consider this on my drunkest day. OL is getting thin, and needs added depth not loss of. I'm on the fence with Jaylon, but I'm about to fall off in to a steaming pile of manure.

I like his size, reminds of Jensen from the Bucs. If he can handle DT/NT one on one then it opens a lot of plays with pulling linemen.

Will he last into the 3rd round?

I think Creed will go higher than currently projected.

And do you also have a plan how to fill those 3 holes you just created ?

Looney, McGovern & Draft Licks.

So you promote 2 backups as starters and hope to find another starter at LB with a max 3rd round pick ? or do you spend your 10th for a LB ?

Now you have a OL that has big questionmarks at LT and RT. 2 backups at center and LG. And your defense (which is already full of holes) is missing a starting LB.
You also now have two backups at OL that cost you way more than your starting players that were on rookie deals.

Are you really willing to risk so much just for 1 player ?
And remember this team is lacking way more than 1 player to be even an 8-8 team again.

Looney > Biadasz

McGovern > Williams

Folks, this is the kind of thing you get on a fan forum. I appreciate everyone that explained why it's a dumb idea. Seeing this thread makes me more appreciative of the decision-makers in the FO. I acknowledge they make dumb decisions from time to time, but not this dumb. :p

Big bodied DT's are easy to find, Dallas hasn't been interested in having them. But why not keep all of our guys and just bring in JJ Watt?
Yeah, adding another injury-waiting-to-happen type of player to the roster would not only give LVE, Sean Lee, Tyron and Collins a new player to talk to on the sidelines, but Watt is at the end of his career which means years of him being injured while he can continue to hit the salary cap without having any on-field production. I bet he could hang on for five more years based off of his jersey sales alone.
