The added bonus to this request is watching the inevitable pissing match between Romo haters and Romo lovers.
I'm a lover, but it's only a number. But you're right, folks on here will definitely go at it.

If Jaylon was as good as a LB as Romo was a QB, that would be fine.

Romo was a franchise QB for years. Jaylon has another bad season and he’s getting cut.

I've always been a huge Tony Romo fan; but is his number really that untouchable?

Dallas has thrown 88 around for decades for example; and that was worn by Hall of Fame and Super Bowl winning receivers. If Jaylon asks to wear Aikman's number 8, then I would take exception.

What exactly has he done to deserve to be public enemy #1? If the worst thing you can say about him is that he underachieved after he got paid than yeah maybe he should wear #9 because Romo didn't do ANYTHING once he got paid other than get benched for Dak......

The worst thing he does is play football. That’s the problem

I would hope you took it as more than he swipes! That was a me thing I listed. It’s the attitude. Not accomplishing anything but acting like he has. As I said no self awareness like the injury celebration. That’s way more than one move especially when he acts like he’s all good. Honestly the other people you listed bother me too because the whole thing is the culture. It’s a culture of branding yourself without making a difference. Jerry allows it. “Hot Boyz” “Swipe” “Howl” “Feed Me”.....how about put your head down, stop missing plays and win when it counts. Be accountable
Honestly man.....its not even a culture thing. Every team celebrates. Every player celebrates. Even guys who play for Bellicheck. Guys that played for Jimmy Johnson celebrated. Guys who played for Tom Landry celebrated. When you don't win though it becomes a scapegoat and that's where Jaylon is at right now. It happens all the time. Before Jaylon it was Ware in his last years, Anthony Spencer, Terrance Newman, Roy Williams, Mo Claiborne....its just what fans do. Then when Jaylon leaves it will be someone else.

You are right to a point. I get it. Celebrating a TD, int or a big play doesn’t bother me. It’s part of the fun. Celebrating non plays that make no difference while getting beat does bother me. He just seems to be the king of it. I’d excuse it if he was our best D player but online after games you can find video of the guy making just horrible plays where he’s not even in the right gaps etc. That’s all I want. Do better if that’s your MO

I mean of course he's gonna be the king of it when you already don't like the guy lol. Let's be honest if Jaylon never celebrated you'd still have issues with him right? Let's not make it like its just because he's celebrating.

Jaylon has a lot of things going against him. He puts on bad film, Jerry "overpaid" him.....he's just easy to scapegoat. Him and Zeke.

On another team?

Cool

Wear the number of the best QB we’ve had here for the last 20 years? Hell no

Romo was a very good QB, but always came up short in the biggest games. He was this genetations Danny White except White had more playoff success. Personally I don't think Romo did enough to not have his jersey worn.

That just shows how oblivious Jaylon is of who he plays for and their history. #9 is Romo's until someone very special comes along to wear it. That's not Jaylon. We don't retire numbers but certain ones might as well be.

No not at all. You’re completely wrong. I already explained..but you ignored...he’s a great story that you should cheer for...college stud, horrific injury, comeback story. I said it above. I never said anything about him while he rehabbed or was coming back. I was excited for him. But I enjoyed his first year back. My issue is he seems to be regressing while branding himself more. It’s not that hard. Zeke I don’t dislike. Just want him to live up to being a top guy. Pretty simple but you keep labeling me.

This change reads like a long-ago agreement-hidden concession the owners made to the players & the NFLPA, to help grease the wheels to accept adding a 17th game to the regular season schedule.
