20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.59
3-Cone Drill: 7.47

40 Time Range: 4.80-4.85/Projected 4.89

Versatile DL that can play LDE or RDT. Very similar to Hatcher out of Grambling. Vertical Jump shows his explosion and 4.83 40yd time is good for DT/LDE in 4-3.

But reaching for 7th round picks in the 3rd has me wondering is there change in strategy were coaches are scouting and scouts are coaching.

It's crazy to see it playing out but we knew draft boards would be all over the place this year. At least ours sure has been.

The DT from FSU still available as well as Perkins who is a superior talent along with a day 1 starter at LG in Trey Smith

I feel like ours was disproportionately crazy with this last pick.

Golston and Zuwa I was content with but not excited I guess. Do love what they do offer though

You have to go with big bodies across the whole defensive line. That's my opinion, if you want to stop the run and keep the QB in the pocket. BTW, sacks happen in the pocket.

So I don't have a problem with this pick. I have a problem with our small DT's. If a DT isn't 6'4" and 300 pounds his not big enough, IMO.

Parcells and Jimmy Johnson knew how to put together a defensive front seven. All of our recent coaches seem to struggle at doing that.

Here we go with this Parcells nonsense again. He won ZERO playoff games and ZERO division titles as Cowboys head coach but somehow he's a God.

There are over seven billion people on this planet. I don't need any of them to agree with my opinions. My opinions are mine alone. Just because I share them doesn't mean I'm looking for readers to agree with me. Comprende?

He’s not a 7th round talent
He wasn’t a household name but he does have some talent
One thing all these guys they took have in common is they are all high effort players so people wanted a culture change, this may be it
Can you imagine every player giving 100% on each play
We might keep opposing teams from running over our defense every week

I watched every game of his as a hawkeyes fan and felt like he was underrated. He wasn’t in alot of peoples top 150ish players. He just does things right. We needed end and its not flashy but i hope it works.

I watch a ton of Big 10 football and agree with you. This man has been well coached for years in a great defensive scheme. He will know his job and fulfill his role to the best of his ability. He plays hard and he’s smart which is a bonus.

He will spell Law on early downs here and there and will keep him as fresh as possible for that 3rd down rush. He’ll be a good locker room influence, keep his nose clean and give full effort at all times.

You can’t ask for more from a 3rd round pick. It would be nice it he turned out to be a good/great player. But on such a bad defensive team, I’ll settle for him playing his role well.

I dont believe that Quinn has forgotten everything he knew in Seattle about spotting defensive talent.I dont even qualify as a hack so I'll watch training camp and the 1st season and instead of waiting 3 years to judge the draft I'll jump the gun after we finish the season declare some statements about this damn curious draft

Seattle was notorious for "reaching" for talent in the middle rounds that worked out.

I think we may have taken the wrong Iowa D lineman with this pick... Daviyon Nixon was still on the board and he filled a more pressing need.

I would say the hope for him is he is a bigger Tony Tolbert. I imagine this guy will replace Armstrong on the strong side and his job will be to play the run. He appears to be a strong player. If he can match tolbert's mean streak and motor then he will be a viable player for them on day one.

if you guys knew how much Jerry loved Dorance Armstrong you would pass out, now seeing them 3 years later draft his replacement because he can't play. It really says it all.
