Totally pathetic pick. Its like these guys have no clue about anything after the middle of the 3rd round and just take stabs at guys they kinda liked and grab them too early.

And then the corner after him was even more pathetic.
They’ve forgotten more than you’ll ever know. I’ll listen to them.

The DT from FSU still available as well as Perkins who is a superior talent along with a day 1 starter at LG in Trey Smith
All this teams were passing the players you are talking about, 2 of them I believe went undrafted due to medicals.

If he rotates in on a running down (3-4) where does he slot in? as a 5T? or will he only be used in nickel?

Who is they? There is no question at all that I could do better than Jerry in these drafts. Half the people on this site can do it better. Give me half the resources he has and its over.

Baaaaa goes the sheep. Do you have any opinion at all or do you just fall in line?

40 Time Range: 4.80-4.85/Projected 4.89

Versatile DL that can play LDE or RDT. Very similar to Hatcher out of Grambling. Vertical Jump shows his explosion and 4.83 40yd time is good for DT/LDE in 4-3.

But reaching for 7th round picks in the 3rd has me wondering is there change in strategy were coaches are scouting and scouts are coaching.
Where did you read/hear he was a 7th round talent?

You have to go with big bodies across the whole defensive line. That's my opinion, if you want to stop the run and keep the QB in the pocket. BTW, sacks happen in the pocket.

So I don't have a problem with this pick. I have a problem with our small DT's. If a DT isn't 6'4" and 300 pounds his not big enough, IMO.

Parcells and Jimmy Johnson knew how to put together a defensive front seven. All of our recent coaches seem to struggle at doing that.

Aaron Donald says hi.

Let's hope he's a more effective DE/DT than what Crawford was!

If so, he might well enjoy an even longer career, like it or not. :D

Dallas will eventually learn that Iowa players are NFL ready and disciplined...this is only the THIRD Hawkeye they've drafted in the last 37 years. I was screaming for Jimmy to grab Merton Hanks back in the day and there have been countless others to go in the late rounds to other teams and have long careers.

Golston was a more lightly regarded prospect until the Senior Bowl or whatever all star game he played in. At that point NFL scouts really started to notice his length, power, and athleticism. He was a top 100 player in a couple rankings I saw (sorry I don't have any links), and was viewed as a high character player with consistency and a non-stop motor.

The Cowboys picked him right around where he was pegged to go, in other words.
