The thread title is a joke..

I wish I didn't have to explain that.

Exactly. He's the backup deep snapper. Obviously it would be tough for him to snap the ball and still get back there in time to kick it too.

The only time a snapper also kicked the ball was in 53. John Breitling snapped the ball for the Bears. The holder, Piccolo, dropped the snap. Assuming the Piccolo, who was also the team's RB, would pick it up and run, the regular kicker, Johnson (I think) split out wide to block for him. Breitling, hearing the crowd, thought the ball had been fumbled and backpeddled quickly to find the ball. Piccolo put the ball down as Breitling was already on his way towards the line. Surrounded by the defense and seeing the ball in kicking position, Breitling decided to just kick it. Good from 27 yards. Not only is the thread title a joke, I just made all of this up.

After watching what happened in our playoff game vs Seattle a couple years ago, this is actually somewhat significant if he's able to make a 30 yarder somewhat consistently.

Lmao backup kickers are the best. Kicking a football with accuracy is really, really, really hard.
