I notched another trip around the sun today, as well.

My wife has seen me watch the most devastating losses, and the most thrilling wins over the last thirty years. NHL, and NFL. Win or lose, five minutes after the game she has to ask me how it turned out because she can't tell from my demeanor.

During the game I'm cheering, yelling, complaining, swearing... whatever the situation calls for. As soon as that clock hits zero, my emotional attachment hits zero, too.
Happy birthday, salud!

Happy birthday Ranching :) May you have many more game day menus ahead of you. But not so fast on the maturity, if I recall correctly you claimed to have set a guy on fire not too long ago

I confess I did cry when I was younger, but to make up for that loss of fluid now I just drink more
I did! It was after the first 90s SB. Same friend from HS. I doused him with charcoal lighter fluids and chased him with a lighter. He jumped over a chain link fence. He was pretty agile for a 6'2" 270 pounder! Good times!

I have been watching the cowboys since 1971, at least that’s what I remember but I unused to watch football with my dad before then

all my life I had taken the losses really hard, one day a wise man told me why get so upset over something you can’t control and the cowboys don’t love you it’s a one way love affair. So ever since I get over losses the same day usually before I finish my drink. I know my wife and kids like to watch ball with me more now

I turned 59 this year

I watched my very first Cowboys game when I was nine years old. January 1, 1967. That was the Packers Cowboys championship game where Meredith threw an interception in the Endzone on fourth down at the very end of the game. The year ended that New Year’s Eve with the Ice Bowl. As education and my job moved me around the country before the Internet and today’s expanded coverage of the NFL, I did miss a few games here and there. But in my now 64 years I’ve watched every game that I could and listened to others on the radio.

Happy Birthday. But the most important question is “what is on the birthday menu? “

Today I turn 55, I've watched every play of every game since 1974. I used to cry when we lost, I even beat up my best friend in HS because he kept making fun of me cause his Commanders beat my Cowboys. As I grew up and life hit me in the face, my loyalty and fandom stayed the same, but my reaction to wins and losses changed. Other than my playful Garrett sucks rant, I now take it with a grain of salt, lime and tequila!

How do you take the wins and losses??

BTW, not looking for birthday wishes, it's understood. Salud!!

Cuando los Cowboys pierden arruina mi semana. No puedo sentirme bien hasta que vuelvan a ganar.

Feliz cumpleaños, amigo.
