I don’t recall seeing any pulling linemen come up holding a knee on a play.

I have.

TSmith took a hit to his right knee a few seasons back. He was wearing his knee brace. He was lucky.

I think knee braces should be mandatory for all OL, just like college ball.

Maybe the knees of 300 pounders. I doubt it does much for the 190 pound DBs.

300 pounds colliding with 190 pounds up high can cause more concussions.

Is the offensive lineman allowed to lead with his head? Can the OL ram his head into the chest of a DB? I know RBs can get flagged for that. Not sure about OL.

This is exactly the problem. The NFL continues to protect the OFFENSE. Hence, protecting their money, as scoring is what everyone wants. I hate it though. There is no way to justify this new rule in terms of player safety. You might save a few OLine kneecaps in exchange for pancaked concussed DB's. Not to mention, when these DB's get rolled up, big OLine dudes are gonna trip all over them blowing out their knees anyway. No way an intelligent panel of people put this rule together.

Terrible rule change…. Not sure how they come up with this new rule when there is so much broken with today’s game lol

Football is beginning to be unwatchable. The refs end up deciding more and more of the games. Rules favor the offense— it has become a fundamentally unbalanced sport
