I think he's saying that those guys don't NEED a good running game to be successful, but it helps if they do.

Nah man. When you have the lead you NEVER run it. Pass-Pass-Pass baby.
Never mind a team MIGHT throw it 35 times in the first 3 quarters to 15 runs in the same time frame and build a big lead.
When they run it 22 times in their final two drives with the opposing D sucking wind, CLEARLY the running game was what got them the lead and won them the game.

Are the Cowboys winning these games BECAUSE they are running the ball more? Or are they running the ball more because they ARE winning these games?
Think about it. In games Dallas has a 4th quarter lead they won't be airing it out, they'll be running it to kill the clock. I read a very long ago that these "Team A is 25-0 when so and so rushes for 100 yards" stat lines are very subjective.
Unless this is another attempt to paint Dak as a QB that can't win unless circumstances are perfect; in which case I'm not surprised.

The running game helps everything!
But sometimes--like vs the league's best run D in Tampa--you have to go to air if you hope to score.
To be fair to Moore though...Dak checked out of 12 run plays in that game. May've been the correct read, but we did call far more run plays than it seemed.

Are you telling me that OCs send two plays into the game, one pass and one run?
And then based on how the D lines up (since the D typically does not line up before the offense breaks the huddle), the QB has the responsibility of changing the play to a run or pass based on the D alignment?
So when you face a team like Tampa who stacks the box a lot, a QB MIGHT change a run to a pass?
And if you play a team that plays both safeties deep, like LAC, then the QB MIGHT stick to the run?
Dude .... I just don't believe it.

I think a team needs to run the ball at least 13 times in the first half, just to see if their run game can be affective throughout the game. As the saying goes...run it early, run it often. So Dallas being 25-0 when they run more than they pass is not a surprise, to me. If the run game is working, it's the easiest way to win.
