1. I think we can spare any wasted energy on Kellen Moore's status. He's a coveted young coach for sure but he is also highly paid. Like Will McClay before him it feels very much as if Jerry will match any salary offered. And if Kellen turned down the head coaching job at his college alma mater I can't really see it being hard to say no to coaching some 5 win NFL team like Detroit in a season where there are no surefire franchise QB prospects to be drafted.

2. I think we all should just enjoy being a good football team. It happens seldom enough. Let's not get distracted by nonsense like whether Dak is good or not. That's pointless.

3. I think fandom has gone off the rails if we are rooting for our biggest rivals in week 6 or 7 in hopes of better seeding in 3 months. That's ludicrous to me.

4. I think listening to the MIC'd up Cowboys from the Pats game you get a feel of just how much confidence is growing within the team. They legit always felt they were winning that game. Dak's take after the long, deflating bomb was ice cold. "Exactly where we want to be". Then he goes out and wins it with a 35 yard TD with 20 seconds left. Ice water in veins.

5. I think I'd be spending a considerable amount of time on Red Zone offense. So much talent to be bleh once you hit pay dirt. Maybe you swap out OL in those short yardage situations. Bring in the road graders. I'd be willing to consider all options.

6. I think the drafting has been very solid here for a long time but the FA class seems unusually positive. Dallas for years has signed FA who either get cut in camp or get hurt. Kearse, Hooker, Kazee, Urban, Neal. This defense would be really bad if they hadn't hit on many of those cheap FA targets. If that's all Dan Quinn he may be more valuable than Kellen Moore!

7. I think Dak is going to have to take over clock mgmt from the coaching staff. MM is a good coach but Aaron Rodgers handled clock mgmt. Dak needs to take that aspect over given the results we've seen thus far.

8. I think the DL depth which has been tested very stringently early is going to really benefit from the Bye week. Rest for all those guys and closer to the return of Gallimore and DLAW who were arguably your best DL last year.

9. I think this division is really bad and can't wait to play those teams. I don't see a single franchise QB on those rosters and man that is exactly what I'd wish upon my worst enemies.

10. I think we've paid off any penance owed to the football gods. Jimmy is in the Ring o Honor, we haven't won a title in 30+ years and we've faced more than pour share of terrible officiating. So please football gods take care of our health the remainder of this season.

I can see both sides of #3. If you think Dallas is “for real” they are going to destroy the division going away. We are not setting sights on NFCE we are setting our goal as the super bowl.

Seeding in playoffs is super important. It’s the shortest path to a SB. We may need Green Bay to beat someone else. A Green Bay loss means way more to us than a loss to a division rival that is half dead.

Cowboy fans ...... "Jerry needs to stop interfering with the head coach"

Also Cowboy fans ....... "Somebody take the head coaches responsibilities and give them to someone else!"
Weird how that is....:huh::confused:

I hope someone knocks off Tampa and or GB, would rather not have to face Brady or Rogers in play offs.

This is why I always respond with .... keep the draft picks .... when I see a thread about making trades.

They have hit on a lot of players making an immediate impact. And also some depth, that could turn into starters.
There is not one player out there truly worth giving up a high draft choice at this time, that can come in and impact this team. There are a few on defense that could help tremendously. But they are not going to make those insane trades. Keep the draft picks, 1 through 4 and even the 5th in most cases.

And certainly not if the player is looking for a big contract.

Usually I say win the division, do not root for the rivals to win until it is secured.
However with a 3 game lead in the NFCE, and those 3 teams look to be going nowhere.
I would not mind if WFT knocks off GB this weekend. I am ok either way, but a win there would not hurt. We have 2 chances later on to knock off WFT.

WFT also has TB at home week 10, but I will revisit that at that time.
Week 11 NYG at TB.

All the NFCE still have a lot of games left. we just win those games, let them split theirs. We win the games we are supposed to win, all will work itself out.

Need to start rooting for TB, GB, LAC and Arizona to lose a few. Of course we have Arizona at home later on.
Arizona and GB play in week 8, at Chicago later, which may or may not be a tough game. GB and LAR in week 12, plus GB plays at Ravens later on. And LAR and Arizona play another game.So they have some potential losses coming up.

TB has a pretty easy schedule the rest of the way though, with the toughest games, at NO, maybe at Indy, maybe at Carolina. Buffalo is the hardest game.

Hard disagree for me there. I'm a fan of the Cowboys more than I'm a hater of the Giants, Eagles and WFT. Me rooting for them to beat GB, TB, LAR, Arizona is seeded in the following:

1) I believe the division is the Cowboys at this point.
2) Historically, being the 1 seed is the surest path to the Super Bowl. Our bye is early, I want another one.
3) Assuming 1 and 2, every win they get is a loss in draft position. For that Giants and Eagles in particular, that is important to me as well considering they each have 2+ first round picks.

I'd rather the fans of their teams get stuck in an 8-9 rut than 4-13. Allows the orgs to flounder longer.

"we haven't won a title in 30+ years"

I think your math skills are lacking but your point still stands.

#5 should be a weekly emphasis. We move easily enough 20-20 but in the RedZone is where we win/lose games.
