If Cowboys wants to come out with a win vs Kansas City Chiefs then they must neutralize DT: Chris Jones & TE: Travis Kelce.

Chris Jones is a monster in the middle who can rush and collapse the pocket from inside, or if stalled at LOS then he bats down passes with his length. In the run game he is stout who can hold LOS & penetrate for tackle for loss.

In passing plays the OL needs to combo block him with guard-center if he is lined up inside and tackle-guard if he is on the edge. I’ll leave him 1v1 vs Martin or Collins. Dak needs have a deeper drop and roll out to avoid passes being batted down.

On defense Kelce must doubled with one player playing press man and other covering the top. If playing zone still press him at LOS and funnel him to the help side at all times.

Spy Mahomes with Micah Parsons.

Kelce is going to get his touches regardless. The blueprint against PM is to take away his deep throws by playing two deep safeties and putting pressure on him. That's what teams have been doing successfully against him. For some reason the Raiders decided to not do that.

I do have a bad feeling Kelce could be running wild this game for some crazy yardage total.
But that's the price of doing business with this team. You don't want Tyreek Hill running behind your defense for 75 yd TD bombs...

The big plays are what Dallas needs to stop. Hill needs to be priority 1. Kelce in the middle of the field is 2. If Mahomes is forced to dink and dunk he'll eventually get impatient and force a couple shots and that is where Dallas can turn the game.

Gus Bradley is as arrogant and stubborn as Jason Garrett. I dont see this staff every "doing what they do"

Main thing is Dallas needs to tackle well in this game. KC in the Raiders game threw a lot of short passes but poor tackling allowed big yards after catch. Dallas vs Minn and Atlanta were spot on coming up and making the stop on the spot, they will have to do that in this game. Keep help over the top on Hill and all short passes guys need to be Johnny on the spot and make those tackles.

Offensively I think it will be important to establish the run early if they do that it will slow down pass rush and expose what I think is a fairly week KC secondary

KC has a lot of good players playing at home. With the Cowboys injuries on defense KC should be favored to win. Dallas will need to keep it close and win at the end. Could be a repeat of the Tampa game.

Chris Jones scares me a lot too, mostly because of Connor Williams and Tyler Biadasz. Williams needs to figure it out for one game and keep the big man in check.

Jones is the one that worries me, since Biadasz has been suspect against strong DTs, often getting pushed back. perhaps Zeke will be back there similar to Tampa game to provide additional chipping/blocking.

Kelce is an issue....but I rather see Kelce trying to beat us, than hill beating us deep.

Who they gonna pressure PM with? Armstrong? If this is the recipe, then Dallas loses.

Kelce is also the "Michael Irvin" of those Chiefs championship teams. The swagger, momentum goes through him. You get him going, you get the team going. I keep thinking a star TE is going to show us up, but other than Gronk in Week 1, it doesn't feel like any TE has had great days against us?

That’s why he needs to be como blocked majority of the game. I know Zack can hold down 1v1so help Connor & Tyler!

We need to shred this bad defense and make P Mahomes play from behind....mix up coverages and get the TO's that causes, this is what we do. We will give up plays on D...as long as the Offense keeps this bad defense realing, we will have opp's for TO's that will get our Offense the ball back.

Defense needs to utilize Bossman Fat’s speed vs Hill & Hardeman

On offense, contain Mahomes. Watch out for that outside swing pass as they always keep a receiver hanging around the sideline at the LOS. Kelce will get his catches, as did Pitts with the Falcons, then they shut him down later on, or seemed to. They need to play that style defense with him.
They other player is Hill of course. But I think he can be neutralized to a degree by containing Mahomes in the pocket. Hit him and make him a little rattled.

On defense, yes Jones is the one player I am more concerned with. Double him if needed. Maybe move Dak around a bit, some rollouts. Give him that extra second, and he will find the open receiver. Maybe some crossing routes will work, if they get the time to let them develop.
Maybe I am off, but it seems they do not use those any more.

KS is a tough place to play. I agree when PM is forced to throw on the run he tries to do too much and will make mistakes.

Micah Parsons speed needs to be utilized when Mahomes leaves the pocket and force him to throw early!
