Is the 2 seed worth resting players

Of course Dallas has to win tonight which doesn’t seem likely, but with that said looking at what needs to happen with a win isn’t as far fetched as it might appear:

looking at the scenarios, rams losing to a SF needing a win to get in with rams already clinched can certainly happen, AZ playing a Seattle team with basically nothing to play for but most likely Wilson’s last game in Sea, same with the head coach not too mention AZ much worse at home, and then there is TB..that’s the tricky one, but if you can imagine a scenario where the bucs who are missing many players injured or with Covid and barely beating the jets the previous week, it’s not totally impossible..

The Cowboys would be the No. 2 seed if the following occurs in Week 18:

  • Win, a Buccaneers loss, a Rams loss, and a Cardinals loss/tie
Unfortunately, most of the missing players are on the "D" side of the ball and with the way Prescot has been winging it a victory tonight is going to be a long shot at best and don't forget the *** whipp'in the Boys put on the Eagles is going to loom large too because payback is a b#$%h. With the way Prescot has folded the last few weeks I look for the Eagles to turn the tables of the Boys and show everyone that this Cowboy team in nothing more than a division winner in a weak division.

Again unlikely yes, but not as crazy as let’s say needing the jags to beat Indy or something like that

The Panthers beating Tampa is pretty much just as crazy as the Jags beating Indy at this point (both are 7 wins up on the team they are playing).

It doesn’t matter where we’re seeded we’re not going far.

beating a team 3 times in a row form your division i the same year is a tough task. dont like that scenario

Believe it or not teams have faced each other three times in a season 22 times since 1970. The record? Well the sweeping team is 14-8 in those 22 attempts. The article says 14-7, but that was before the Saints lost to the Buccaneers last year.

So apparently it is not as hard as it seems.

That said, those three teams aren't all losing tomorrow anyway.

75% of the time the team that sweeps the regular season wins the 3rd postseason matchup. So that is factually incorrect. We also slaughtered Philly in 2009 in a very similar setup.

dk why people keep thinking the team needs rest. I've seen the playoff week off resulting in players coming out rusty more than rejuvenated. this teams timing is poor enough that an extra week would probably hurt more than help.
enough with the *****footing-get out and play already

If you have potential to improve seeding, you do it.

What is scenario to get #3 seed? That gives us potential to prevent going to GB an extra week.
