I’m not sure this has been brought up, but I gotta give credit to the offense here.

Biadasz has a great eye for defenders jumping offside and doing a quick snap to run the free play!

It’s happened probably 6-8 times the last few games, and nearly all of those plays resulted in big gains.

Also, Dak is unbelievably decisive in those situations. He latches on to the biggest gain potential, and he lets it rip.

Just wanted to give props to Biadasz and the offense, because that’s a rare skill in this league.

Hopefully it continues.

I noticed that. The second an Eagle stepped over, the ball was snapped. Loved it.

I saw Matt Hasselbeck I believe run a story on how we're made this a weapon. Our efficiency in the last two minutes of the first half was also refreshing.

I honestly think that Dak needs to treat a few other throws as if they were ‘free plays’ and turn it loose more often. It seems he’s at his best and most decisive when he worries less about a potential turnover.

I don’t want to see him get reckless, but I do think he needs to threaten defenses with more downfield passes.

I couldn’t agree more. You can visibly see the difference in his confidence level in those free play situations. If he could replicate that mindset more often, we might be playing for another month. He scares me when he’s too calculated and hesitant.

What I find funny is that we are usually successful on completing deep passes during those plays. We should be as consistent on our normal deep passes, but it’s almost like the “free play” makes us better.

I wonder if Dak’s risk-averse playstyle is what limits us hitting on deep routes. When he knows he has a free play he’ll let it rip (and it usually works out). Maybe he’s an elite gunslinger at heart but is being forced into a pure pocket passer, which is arguably not his strength.

Probably half of Dak’s 10 best throws of the season were in these situations, proving he CAN do that and do so repeatedly. My only gripe with him his whole career has been that he’s too conservative as a passer and doesn’t try and fit balls into tight zone windows unless he has a free pass to try.

I’d gladly take another 3-4 picks a year if it meant he’d let those tight window 20-30 yard seem routes rip more often. He clearly can hit them consistently.

I think there’s a lot of truth in that! On the free play to Cooper tonight, Dak dropped it in the bucket on a beautiful throw between the CB and safety. There’s no risk of mistake, so he just lets it flow and it’s magical.

That’s part of what made his 2016 season so good - he was playing to prove himself and keep a starting job… nowadays he plays a little more safe, which means he will overthink a pass and not risk a potentially deep gain if he feels it will get picked.

I think you guys have hit the nail on the head. Free plays bring out the "gun-slinger" in Dak because he knows that there won't be any repercussions. Wish he would have the mindset more often. As someone else stated above, I would gladly accept a few more INTs if it meant that Dak was a bit more aggressive.

Yes, agree, don't be so afraid of the int.
It's part of the game
Gotta take the downfield shots
