As the Cowboys prepare for the 49ers Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at AT&T Stadium, here are the latest updates from Thursday's practice at The Star.

  • The Cowboys practiced on the outdoor practice fields at The Star in pads Thursday during the portion normally open to the media.
  • The entire active roster was present at practice during the open portion.
  • Safety Jayron Kearse returned to practice after being activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
  • Cornerback Nahshon Wright also returned to practice after being excused from Wednesday's practice (not injury related).
  • Running back Tony Pollard and tight end Blake Jarwin continued their early-practice routine of doing rehab work with associate athletic trainer/director of rehabilitation Britt Brown before moving into individual work.

Cox played 9 snaps on defense. That’s not a loss of any kind. You may see it as a lost opportunity to gain something, but we have no idea how much or how well he would have played; it’s pure speculation.

i do wonder if Cox's snaps would have gradually increased more per 2nd half of the season.

i still remember his stone cold smack on Giants QB Daniel Jones near the goal line, that knocked Daniel outta the game.

Thank you - I was about to go look at snap count because calling a sneaky-bad loss to a guy who played all of a quarter once and has been out since Nov 2 is a tough statement to agree with. Out LBers are terrible and this is the sort of team to really expose them, but there is no evidence to suggest Cox would be better.

He was a nice prospect and looking at most of our class I'm inclined to think he may have been a contributor. We will have to find out next year.

What does rehab work mean? Will they be active on sunday? Pollard?

But wow, sounds so cool. We didnt have this since week one or not even then. Okay Gallups missing, but playing that game with all our guys will really show, what this team is capable of.

Can't wait!!! Gawd I'm beginning to be pumped lol. :)

:flagwave:
Hated losing Gallup, but with his absence beginning week 2 through 9, has allowed solid development from Ced Wilson.
Lets thank our lucky :starspin: that we had the depth to maintain a positional strength.

Pollard is a full go. We are about as healthy as we have been all season. Zeke is basically 100% right now saying his knee isnt bothering him at all. Tyron has a slight ankle issue, but hes gonna be a full go. Obviously we lost Gallup, but Wilson has been an absolute beast filling in.

This is a no excuses game. We lose, we just simply got beat.

Plus, the Shanahan scheme, built on eye-candy and misdirection, is hell on rookie linebackers.

Best bet is to go watch the SuperBowl between LAR and Patriots and see what the Pats did. They put 5 on the DL and played gap maintenance with shades to the outside.

I think the best thing going for us is Quinn's ability to coach multiple fronts. This isn't a Marinelli 1-gap DL. Focus needs to be on gap integrity over pressure by shooting the gap. I'm confident in Lawrence, but the other side gives me fear.

Danny Dimes begs to differ.

He chased down a QB and knocked him out of the game, on a play that probably should have been flagged for helmet to helmet. Not exactly a big body of evidence.

Dimes dazed & stumbling to get off the field was great but even better was the up-close shot of Danny, right after the shellacking, licking the "crumb rubber" from his lips and swallowing. Laughed so hard I hurt myself.

LB Neal is the main injury concern at this point.

Agreed.

The loss of Michael Gallup and Jabril Cox hurts. Could have used them big time during the playoffs. Everyone else has to step up and play hard since everyone available is healthy. No excuses. Cowboys have to come out and play pissed off while staying focused. Play hard and aggressive but focused and do your job. Win your matchups. Keep penalties at a minimum. This team is way more talented than the 49ers. If everyone, including coaches, does their job well all 4 quarters, Cowboys should win this in a landslide.

meh, this is gonna be a tight one more than likely...UNLESS one teams turns it over a bunch of times. Two evenly matched teams

This stupid thread should taken down.

Keanu Neal is out and his replacement has hardly played this year!
