Can't believe Cowboys "fans" don't know that Jimmy-Freaking-Johnson drafted Aikman.

People, Jerry and Jimmy came to the Ranch in February, 1989. Aikman was drafted in April, 1989.

Yes, Landry and Gil scouted Troy at the Jan 1989 Cotton Bowl, which Aikman played in (UCLA). And by all accounts, he was going to be the #1 choice for Dallas under the old regime. But Jimmy and Jerry drafted Troy.

Now, in 1988, yes, Landry and Gil drafted Michael Irvin. The only one of the triplets drafted by the previous regime.

Could be said Mr Landry gave Mr Johnson the number 1 pick that year by virtue of the teams record this handing him Mr Aikman.

It's all in how one wants to spin it. lol

At the end of the day...does it really matter? It's already cemented in the history books.

Ok Jimmy drafted Aikman, but he has handed Aikman right before the draft. Landry fired 2/89. Aikman drafted 4/89.
