It's the way this team lost which is unacceptable to me

If they had come out from the very first minutes of the 1st quarter, putting up their very best effort, fight and heart into the game for 4 quarters, in a tough battle with the 49ers. And the Niners were just the better team in the end or won the game because they had the ball last or something like that. Then this loss would be a little bite easier, although still difficult to swallow.

But they come out playing their worst 1st half game of the season, in the most important game of their season. The defense allows the Niners offense to punch them in the mouth and go right down the field and score. Then the offense fails to match that score and punts back to the 49ers. Allowing the opposing team to set the tone for the majority of the game.

And doesn't even try to show anything resembling a "fight" until the 4th quarter, when it was too late. There's no excuses for the offense having 7 points in 3 quarters. And even then, Jimmy G tried to give them the game and Dak and the offense still failed to get the job done.

Defense is the reason for why we even were as close in that game as we were. But at the same time, they allowed the 49ers offense to drive the ball into field goal range and showed poor tackling efforts. And there were several drives where the Niners didn't even punt. Also they failed to get any sacks on Jimmy G.

This team has a habit of waiting until they are down double digits before trying to do anything and this time they paid for it by getting sent home. And how many times is the OL going to commit drive killing penalties which stalls drives anything the Cowboys offense looks like they are going to get something going? Several seasons of this and they still haven't learned to stop committing drive killing penalties.

I thought this Cowboys team was different, but in the end they are the same old Cowboys, losing in the same old Cowboys way.

I was talking to my brother on the phone during the last few minutes of the game, I think there was just over 2 minutes left and we had the ball. I told him we could actually win this and he agreed. Then I remarked how this is why the team used to be known as the ‘cardiac Cowboys’ - down to the wire and you just wonder what’s going to happen, knowing all the elements are there for a beautiful victory. The outcome, of course, is the Cowboys will be watching the super bowl from the comfort of their sofas.

Guys, that is the way this team has played all season except the 1st game against Tampa. They can't seem to find a way to fight hard against tough defenses and they can't seem to stop the offense in tight games.
The coaching was very poor in this game and game preparation in the week had to be subpar. The media seems to think we have all this great talent but, the talent doesn't show up in big games that matter. Teams
know how to stop Dak which has been evident for the past 3 years. There are no secrets left in the NFL. We way overpaid for average QB talent and we will have to pay the price for the next 3 years. We need some
big, nasty OL this year and let some of the dead wood fall off the tree. More pathetic seasons to come.

Same mentality that was down 31-3 in the 2016 divisional is still here. Multiple coaches later and nearly a full roster turnover. It's crazy

I’ve seen that game a million times. That game was just all too familiar.

Well written and I agree with you.

That said, the whole year everyone on this board has said it would be the defense that keeps the boys in the game, and the offense that will lose it. At least the kicker gets a pass on this loss.

The board sad to say, was spot on.

Had they played like they did against Tampa that would have been one thing. But to come out AGAIN like the moment is too big for you says a lot. This was a carbon copy of the Zona game a couple of weeks ago.

The penalties are ridiculous and our offense is a mess

who's the one constant during all the coaching changes and player turnover throughout the years? you guessed it....jerry jones. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about him. All we can do hope is the football gods bless us with a chance to sniff the super bowl again in our lifetime because if you think jerry is gonna sell the team and give up his "GM" position.....thats wishful thinking.

Over the last 6 weeks the 49ers have beaten 3 playoff teams.

Hmmmm. We're about to see just how good they really are.

We already pretty much knew how good the Cowboys were.
