I thought going into the playoffs, I would not be in Draft Zone until February.
Hello guys, what players can we get at 24. Interior offensive linemen and monster defensive tackle is what I am looking at.
Agreed, with Diggs, Parson, etc. the back 7 is in pretty good shape.
Draft OL and DL, with a good LB if one happens to drop to Dallas' spot. I do think Parsons, LVE, etc. can be good enough at LB, not to say we'd not like better but you can't draft top players at every position.
I have several players that are "must" to be released. Don't care how much it costs, trade them if possible, but if not possible they still have to go:
CONNOR WILLIAMS. Constantly beat, constantly pushed back and constantly getting penalties. NO. 1 on the list.
Gregory. Yes he gets sacks, but (again) constant penalties, he costs games more than he wins them. Armstrong, if he gets more play, imho can be just as good as Gregory.
McGovern. I mean, he's an offensive lineman and they use him for fullback? Obvious he can't handle the guard position, or he'd be in there in place of Williams.
Gallup. He's pretty good when he's in there, but he's had too many injuries, two just this year. In a pre-cap year I'd keep him, but he'll cost too much for somebody that may go down for an extended period at any time, it appears.
Noah Brown. He's done little while on the Cowboys, can be replaced with a rookie or cheap free agent.
Tyron Smith. Man, I love Smith as a player, still pretty good. But Cowboys need to get his replacement in there NOW, linemen can produce quickly but they do need at least a year or two to be really good, don't make the mistake of hanging on to him until he has to suddenly retire, and you're left holding the bag.
Zeurlein.. He's not bad, but misses too many easy kicks, and he's a 10 year vet, costly.
There are others, mainly defensive tackles, but I'd have to research them in more detail and at this point I'm aggravated enough, don't feel like doing it.
Suffice to say it's time to make big changes on this team....
