What is the difference between Payton and McCarthy

Their records are near identical. Ive heard this brought up alot since the rumors picked up

Guys that dont want to pursue Payton for this reason: Sell the guys that want Payton on this

Guys that want to pursue Payton: Sell the guys that dont see a difference on why Payton is better

What impressed me the most was him making the Saints competitive with Winston and Hill at QB.

He would do wonders with Dak imo.

MM was supposed to be helpful in that area, but after recent press clippings it appears he differs the offense to KM in entirety.

Mine is all about our biggest investment, Dak.

If Mike would just coach him and call his plays I would be ok. I at least want to see it. Judging from his PC he is not going too.

Payton would call the plays and develop him

How would McCarthy have done with Taysom Hill, Ian Book and Trevor Simeon at QB?

Payton almost made the playoffs with them

My think with McCarthy and calling plays is his system got stale. Thats why he got fired in GB. He was that kind of HC before, I don't know that he is now. Probably more a CEO type HC. To me that the biggest difference between the two. Almost identical records, but Payton has been able to keep his system update, where McCarthy couldnt

Payton is better at offense and X's and O's. But I'm not sold on all the other stuff he was doing with the Saints in his final years. His obsession with Taysom Hill is a major red flag! :confused:
