I said a similar thing in the Wentz thread but it is just as true here: when you are a high pick you can be terrible for year after year and just keep earning shots because NFL scouts cannot handle being wrong. Dude is not that guy. Carson Wentz is not that guy but they were both high picks so they get shot after shot after shot.

Teams will always take a chance on talent. But there is a mental aspect to the position and Jones/ Wentz don't excel there. One of the best arms the NFL has ever seen is Jeff George. He was a lot better in his late 20's than early 20's. His talent kept giving him opportunities. Thats how the league works. You try to catch lightening in a bottle for a year or 2 and make a run. Look at Philly and Nick Foles. The guy played like a HOF Qb for half a season. He couldn't back it up the enxt year but he'll get opportunities for years b/c of the talent he shows on film.

Actually, Wentz upgrades the skins QB position. Their super bowl odds improved after they signed him. Washington is a dangerous team when the defense gets all their pieces back healthy.

I actually don’t think Mitch is that bad. Worse think for him was being drafted by the bears

I agree. People on this board want to bash Wentz but Dak is no prize either

I dont see a disadvantage to having a backup QB that knows the new offense you're about to install.

Trubisky isn't a good starter, but is an acceptable backup.

Doesn't move the needle much overall, but it makes sense for them.
