I have over 10 acres, my neighbors house is 12000 square feet.....show off

LOL! They do like to build 'em big here in Texas. I shoulda married a country gal.. There were a few places on the other side of the lake that were 1-3 acres which I could have gone for.. but as you might imagine, people don't just leave that kinda place very often. There was not a ton of lakefront inventory in DFW really.. and aside from being close to a mall with a Macy's the wife also HAD to be on a lake.. I got a chuckle out of some of the places I looked at which claimed "lake view" .. some of them had like a teenie tiny view of the lake off in the distance from maybe one of the rooms upstairs. Talk about misleading advertising!

What's funny about Dak and Zeke's places is that they probably paid cash for them. I just hope their financial advisors hipped them to the fact that they will be paying monstrous property taxes on those joints for life.

Did you see that sign up in one of Elliott's rooms? "This is where I beat my wimmen". Not much of a speller, is he?

Like Zekes house much better. Other then the open yard of Dak.

Yes, I like Zeke's better overall.

What I don't like about Dak's, is that big garage is an eyesore in front and off to the side of the main house. Not a good design or layout for as much room there is to place it differently.
What I don't like about Zeke's, should have more surrounding land. As you said, the open back yard of Dak's is better. However that is that area of course, can't do much about it. And he may not have wanted something with a lot of acreage.

Both are great houses though.

I paid cash for mine too....I actually designed and built it myself. I take great pride in not having a house payment for over 20 years.

And from what I understand, many people in the DFW area as well, all over, are getting sticker shock at the appraised value of their homes. As to any property tax increases.
I got my tax value notice in the mail, with the increase in value, but it did not have what the taxes would be. Where it usually shows the taxes, it said to go on line, but there is no on line info yet.
however mine are pretty much frozen, except for the hospital taxes. So I need to find out if that went up if at all.

Still waiting for my notice from my place in Florida.

Can't imagine what their houses values went up to. Depending when they bought them of course.

Remember my asking for a house with a lot of property at least an acre she said.......my question to her. Who's cutting all the grass. She walked off ...LOL

Yep, I'm lucky to have an agriculture exemption because of my cattle.

I'm a little surprised to hear that 10 acres is considered a ranch. Especially in Texas.

Do the other ranchers bust your chops at the feed store?
Nah, they don't have the balls too. I have 10 acres and lease another 30.....my family also owns over 10,000 acres outside of Monterrey Mexico....that makes me feel manly....how big is your spread? 50' by 150'?

Where you at? Cutting the grass on your micro lawn? Texas would chew you and your Kawasaki up

Around here they'd call you a 'homesteader' if they liked you, or a 'hobby farmer' if they don't.

We've got something in common bro. I have cattle on a piece of my property at times. My neighbor uses a piece at times throughout the summer to graze some of his animals, and I let him cut, bale and take the hay off another piece.

Well, this overhead lighting/monitor combo seems inspired by AT&T Stadium lol.
You would think Dak would have something set up to toss some footballs through...you know...to improve accuracy. Nope...that guy is more interested in paying homage to the Rump Rangers. Seriously...hang a tire from the ceiling...and practice some accuracy.

It is a hobby....use it for yard art and a tax break.

I wish!

We got six inches of snow yesterday.

Besides, it's firewood cutting season.
We haven't had rain in 2 months....60 mph winds and low humidity......not good.... it was 105 degrees on Monday
