I am not saying that players never have multiple reasons for situations like this, but the main catalyst is always money.

If the 49ers stopped playing him at running back, it would not change his demand for a trade and/or desire for a new contract.

I am not judging him (he's not on the Cowboys so I do not care) for it, but he and other players should stop acting like it's about other smaller things and simply admit that they just want to get paid.

You might be right, it's too bad players didn't play out their contracts longer.

Those big contracts are almost always regretted unless they're quarterbacks.

Headed the route of McCaffery except his body may've held up longer

I say that and think CMC will bonce back for a few more great seasons, but not long term

Yep. Deebo got over 1k+ after the catch yards, had 369 rushing yards, broke like 20 tackles and had over 2k+ all purpose yards. Want to know how many after the catch yards Cooper got..287...Not even close in comparison.

Edit Correction: he got 786 yards after the catch and 1800 all purpose yards. but point still stands.

Yeah. That is why he wants his money. Not every team runs the 49ers type of offense.

I love the player and he IS the heart and soul of that 49er team. Nothing would make me happier than adding him to our team.

It would all depend on compensation. A first this year and possibly a 4th this year and 3rd next year would be about the max I would want to do for him.

The irony is that Cooper and a 2nd(or 3rd?) may have done it this year.
We'll never know.

It may have but I believe there was guaranteed money that was going to kick in days after we traded him...so the timing wouldn't have worked.

Hard to argue with players when there are record breaking deals every year for the media rights, an extra game, and game announcers are making more than many of the star players on the field. The salary cap should easily be 50 percent higher than it is right now.
