For reference......Head Coaches were Camp, Parcell, Wade Phillip, Jason Garrett, and McCarthy. For comparison, Barry Switzer and Jimmy Johnson won 11 over a 9 years span. Jason Garrett coached 10 years with only 2 playoff wins to show.

Ya dont forget to add your boy in there. 3 playoff wins in last 17. The culprit lies more than just the QB position. although its always been part of it! Its booger and his son thats the biggest issue

yeah thats bad, I checked, and dallas has made playoffs 8 times since 2000 and only won 3 games all in WC round.
if you extend it to 1997, it is 10 playoffs with again just 3 wins.
if you extend it to 1996 it is 11 playoffs with just 4 wins, they lost in div round, and have lost in div round just about every time since then.
well check that, 6 div round losses and 5 WC losses since 96

What this shows is jerry can build a team good enough to make playoffs, but once there, they cant beat the better teams.
I think big part of this is the coaching at least in some of the years.
2007,2014,2016 the teams were good enough but the coaching was bad.

I'm 35 years old.... I used to think that "pshhh... Yeah, they'll win at least one during my lifetime"

I can no longer say that with any kind of confidence. It's very possible for this team to end up like the Jets where their last championship was 50+ years ago.
Well, there's been 3 in your lifetime. It took the Chiefs 50 years to win a second superbowl. The dolphins haven't won one since '72. GB went approx 30 years between SB's. chicago has 1 sb in their long history, Minny is still 0-4 and hasn't been to one since the 70's, NE was a laughing stock up until 2000, etc.

It is unrealistic to expect a long continued run of success in the NFL in this day and age. Teams reinvent themselves every 5 years or so. Dallas' biggest mistake in this 25 year drought was letting Garret coach for a decade. If Jerry wasn't so sentimental towards the Red Menace and dropped the axe on him after year 3 or 4, we may have gotten a coach in here that could have taken advantage of prime Romo, Ware, Witten, etc. and gotten us to a superbowl.

My friend, I think it is you that has that issue. You say nepotism as if it's a bad word. Family businesses are run this way. It's not the nepotism that has screwed up this team, it's the incompetence. Those two words are not synonymous with each other. If you think otherwise then that's your mistake.

Nepotism in this occurrence IS incompetence.

You guys are all just negative Nancy’s lol. Take the suck from Jerrah and don’t criticize or else find another team. We all just should accept the crap we are being fed and enjoy it with a smile.

If Washington passes us, it’s officially over.

It will happen. Cincy and Buffalo are about to happen and both franchises up until the last year or two had zero playoff wins a lot longer than going back to 2000. Cincy since 89 I believe lol.

...I'm old enough to have seen 5 SBs for Dallas, it maybe awhile before I see another...but I do have a $300 ongoing bet that they'll have another by the end of 2024......also, the Cardinal franchise hasn't won a championship since 1947...jus' sayin'!

This is why there is a generation of fans who are happy with a decent regular season and a WC win in the playoffs. It's the best of times for them.
Yeah the younger fans feel like the Lions fans, as well as the Bengals fans until last season. As well as some other teams fans at the bottom of that list.

So yeah cheers to them for sticking with the team.

Cheers to you younger folks who are still here despite a lifetime of disfunction and failure from your team. Much respect.
Most young ( < 35 y.o.) Cowboys / other teams' followers probably acquired their fandom by parentage - Dad, Mom, etc took them to a game ...or watched at home on local TV.
Perhaps the youth football team they played / cheered for was created with the logo of an NFL team (no matter where they lived- grew up).
Either way...being an ardent supporter \ devotee took root.

I'm continually amazed by Cowboys fans who think this guy or that guy will get us over the top.

It's delusional thinking. Jerry & Stephen have spent over a quarter century showing they can't do it. They aren't going to suddenly do it next season.
