If you could trade for any position or player right now to help this team, who would it be?

Is this a trick question

Anyone who says anything other than Mahomes is crazy

This is the first year of his contract extension. His rookie deal is over. No more low pay. He's a 35M cap hit this year as opposed to the 7M cap hit he was last year. Let's see what the Chiefs do now.

Id rather pay 35 to Mahomes than get Dak for free

I think the Chiefs are done. They will not get back to another superbowl with Mahomes anytime soon. Without the abnormally elite weapons he had, I think he will get beat up, battle injuries, and will have average seasons..

I would trade for Debo Samuel or another wide receiver that could help not only with the passing game but the running game as well
It wouldn’t be a guy in the last year of his contract
If I could trade for anyone it would be a guy with 2-3 years left on his rookie contract

Time will tell but talent matters and Wilson is a prime example of that
QB’s get credit for SB wins but TEAMS win Super Bowls
No one can win without a team around them
Mahomes can do more than others but so could Wilson

Justin Herbort. That is too easy.

Why don't you make it anyone besides QB?

DJ Reader. A NT like that would vault our D into the next realm.

I agree. I think he's seen most of his super bowls. He's been exposed, and I don't think he'll have enough around him, especially w/ his exorbitant salaries fixing to hit.

Anyone who doesn't throw Allen, Burrow, and Herbort into that answer is even crazier.

Anyone who doesn’t read that “position OR PLAYER” (not players) was asked by the OP is blind

QB: Justin Herbert (2 years remaining on rookie contract plus the 5th year option)

If I could have traded for 1 non-QB to play in last seasons playoffs:
- TE Mark Andrews
- The Cowboys offense would be completely different with a TE that is both an elite receiver and blocker.

Deebo is not going to be content until he gets a big contract, and he is not worth a Davonte Adams contract.

I would say either Mahomes, Allen or Herbert, but I doubt Kellen Moore would have provided the tutelage their current offensive coordinators and coaches have given them. Translation: I don't think even if they were here, they'd be as great here as they are with their teams now. I simply don't see how Moore made this offense better. We were average at best with the talent we had and, possibly, Dak's injury.

However ... the defense DRAMATICALLY improved last year under the leadership of Dan Quinn and the addition of Micah Parsons along with the maturity of Trevon Diggs. Imagine what we could have done with a run-stopper, pass-rusher like Aaron Donald? That's one less scoring drive by the 49ers, meaning a Cowboys win. That's at least one less scoring drive for Tampa Bay, which loss by three points to the Rams. And we're likely playing Green Bay in the NFC Championship Game, who loss to Niners by 3.

Until we get a competent offensive coordinator (or one not learning on the job), our hope is on the defensive side of the ball. Therefore, give me Aaron Donald, and I'll take my chances with the quarterback we have now.
