1. Markquese Bell, S, FAMU
Many draft analysts thought the HBCU star safety would be drafted somewhere during the seven rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft. When he wasn’t, the Cowboys jumped on the opportunity to secure this speedy talent. Even though the Cowboys re-signed both Malik Hooker and Jayron Kearse, Bell could certainly add more depth and talent to the defensive back unit. His 4.41-second 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine certainly caught the eyes of many scouts.

2. Alec Lindstrom, Center, Boston College
Alec Lindstrom has a chance to make this roster for many reasons. The first is sheer need. With Connor Williams gone, Tyler Biadasz and Braylon Jones are the current roster options at center. While Biadasz certainly improved in 2021, it seems the Cowboys don’t have a ton of confidence in the soon-to-be third-year center. He also had nine penalties last year.

3. Jonathan Garibay, K, Texas Tech

This gives Texas Tech’s record-breaking kicker a chance to compete with Naggar for a starting spot. Unlike Greg the Leg, Garibay was extremely accurate in 2021, missing only one field goal and one PAT during the season. Luckily for Garibay, he will likely only have one player to beat out for a chance on the roster. The problem is that, unlike other positions, there really isn’t a depth chart when it comes to kickers. Most teams only have one on the roster during the season.

4. Dontario Drummond, WR, Ole Miss

While Ty Frofogle is a good receiver, Drummond improved more in his collegiate years. He also presents more of a vertical threat. The Rebel and quarterback Matt Corral made quite the duo in 2021. Drummond colelcted 76 catches for 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns.

Garibay is the only real lock

He's certainly being given a leg up on winning the job. It'll be interesting to see how he does compared to Cade York, considering that Cleveland spent a fourth-rounder on York. I didn't feel there was that much difference between them.

I think that Bell, Lindstrom, and Garibay make it. All of the draft picks will make it with Clark starting the year on PUP.

I fully expect Bell to make the roster if he plays to form. I have heard lots of props given to Lindstrom. Can anyone give me their synopsis on what type of player he is? Is he a road grader or finesse player? What areas are his strengths and weaknesses?

Bunting has been in the league since 2019. I think he is the odd man out.

Schultz, McKeon, Ferguson and Sprinkle.
I haven't really paid attention to McKeon's blocking. Is he a pretty good blocker? Because that's the reason I like Bunting, he seems to be the best blocker of the bunch.

There always seems to be some O-line project that hangs around for a couple of seasons.

I expect Dallas to make another medium-sized addition to the WR room, reducing the possibility of #4 making it

If they go with the vet, I think they try to sign the rookie kicker to the PS.
I think the Safety makes the roster and likely plays all special teams except PAT this year.
I think both UDFA Centers are in the same boat. Win the job or show they can play guard too, or it’s off to the practice squad for a year. The Cowboys won’t keep a second Center who does nothing else.
WRs, all of them, including Vasher, are likely cut or placed on the PS unless they become special teams standouts this year.

I played DE and C in high school, snapped for punts and kicks. What I’ve never understood is why college centers don’t learn to make the special team snaps. It’s not a special innate skill like running fast. It can be learned by anyone with a little coordination and discipline. Then you can have a backup center because he also holds the roster spot of long snapper. So he has to spend extra time with the punter and kicker. Trust me, those guys are not out there working on kicks and snaps for 2 hours while the other guys are practicing. If I was a college center, I’d be learning to snap just to get on a roster.

I think Garibay will take the K spot unless he completely poops the bed.

I like Alec Lindstrom. Super smart, tough player with excellent knowledge of the game. However, he is just not a great athlete. Smarts can only take you so far when you’re trying to block Aaron Donald or Jordan Davis.

Garibay makes it by default unless they bring in another K.
Bell has a chance since they lack depth at spot #5 for S and same Lindstrom at C even at#2 spot.

Any UDFA WR will have a hard time making the 53. so PS for any of them.
However we will get the WR craze of how great a few look against 4th team PS players. Possibly one beats out Vasher until Gallup returns.

Bell has the best chance of all of them.
