I love the sport hehe, as I've made clear on here. Plus, this thread is about why I think it can actually benefit the Cowboys.
You've given ZERO reasons why it benefits the cowboys players.

You given how it benefits Jerry. Possibly local business. You POSTULATE Cowboys players will be inspired to get championships from soccer players? They aren't..already?

And that some fantasy global lasting friendships will inspire them even more?

Good lord...this off season.....people are nuts.

Nominated for dumbest post of the year and exactly what a lot of this teams fanbase has turned into! Let’s all gather around the fire and sing kumbaya. Mediocrity is accepted as greatest just because they put on the star. Jerry loves you!

It is great for the city of Dallas and the country as a whole.

I’ve found most people who don’t see the benefits are probably also people that claim to not like the sport of soccer, anyway.

Yep - never liked a game where the most surprised guy in the house is the one who just scored!
My closest connection to soccer has been streaming all of the episodes of Ted Lasso. But that’s entertaining in contrast to the excruciating three hours of watching people run back-and-forth in shorts on a field. Don’t see the attraction.

I was angling that more to the fact that if the players are watching the matches, then how can they get in trouble? Also, it can be a good morale booster for them. I'm not saying that it will make them want it more, but it can give them personal benefits. If it gives them personal benefits on the friends front and such, how can that be a bad thing for the Cowboys? And if it's giving the players something to enjoy, then perhaps the next offseasons, they will travel more, which benefits the team because they're finding productive ways to use their time.

Great Nationalistic pride is what makes soccer so much fun to watch.

Exactly, and the passion of the fans from such countries. As I've said several times, the Germans during the 2014 WC Final were such fun to chat with and listen to their cheers when I was in Cologne for the Final. It's really special. For those that don't like that kind of football, that is another angle to look at. I enjoy that football, but those fans and nationals from those countries make the experience even more entertaining. You want to see passion? You want to see Jerry's stadium rock? Get some Englishmen and/or Germans cheering on their sides. The noise is incredible.

Plus, as they fall asleep on the couch from watching this god awful boring sport, they’ll be more rested for practice.

Beat me to it.

Look./...beer, bourbon, weed...even SOME pills........I approve of self medicating. HAVE AT IT!

Should mention, I'm a huge fan of FIFA, the Premier League, and other such a footballing events. As I also have said, I think even if you don't enjoy the sport, you might enjoy the supporters. Trust me, go to a country like England, Germany, France, etc during an international tournament like the WC or the Euros, and you'll see sports passion.

As someone who has spent a lot of time in Europe (especially England but also Germany), it's a lot of fun for me to watch. Also, I enjoy playing it. I am a decent keeper when I play. I do take a lot of knees to the face though with the way I save the ball.

What am I supposed to do? Stop being a fan? I just think that the players having international friends like this could be quite exciting. Additionally, I think seeing just how much it takes to even have a sniff at playing in the WC might surprise them. This is like the playoffs on steroids. Even some of the best renown players get left of these squads, and the best international players from national team powerhouses like England maybe get 4 max 5 WC appearances in their lifetime as players. It's insane the lengths those footballers go through to even sniff a WC squad. And then there are some great players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Sweden who have played a long time but, because Sweden doesn't got to the WC often, rarely get to there. So, maybe the Cowboys could learn a thing or two about going even harder from these chaps with just how hard it is to be considered worthy of a single WC match cap, let alone starting in one.

It’s neither good nor bad for the Cowboys. What really matters starts on Sunday night, Sept. 11th beginning at 7:20 PM. That’s when the important stuff really starts.

The tournament isn't until 2026

Great.........we can celebrate the 30th year anniversary of not winning anything that matters in the NFL.. and this WC thingy only benefits Jerry and his bank account.. along with the Dallas metroplex obviously. But no Cowboys related advantage. It doesn't increase their bank account and thus no increase in motivation. These two things are tied together to these men.

The team morale booster will be good, and maybe the players can be inspired by the WC athletes.
