Best all time Cowboys offensive line?

T Tyron Smith
G Larry Allen
C Mark Stepnoski
G Zack Martin
T Rayfield Wright

Man, never thought Erik Williams would be not on the list but I think you're right having Wright over big E.

I wanted Quenton Nelson so bad in that draft to pair with Zack Martin. He was my #1 target even though the Cowboys had what was considered the best OL in the league at the time.

No way. Fredbeard was very good, but Stepnoski was a multi-SB champion Center for the Great Wall of Dallas.
That's a good point, but many times guys are better as part of a successful unit than individually.

Not at all a slight to Stepnoski, who I was a big fan of, but he was replaced by Donaldson seamlessly here, and when he went to Houston/Tennessee, it wasn't like their line was great.

We lost Fred two years ago and are still reeling from it.

It's a apples/oranges comparison for sure, I just give Fred a slight nod on one vs the other individually.

I think if Fred never got GBS and was still playing his individual accolades would of propelled him over Step with his individual accolades and team success.

It's a good debate though. Frederick was a beast with little flaws.

really sucks honestly. what a player, and wonder how things may have gone w/ him still around. :(

while he is prone to nagging injuries and isn't at the same level he was maybe 4 years ago, his demise is greatly exaggerated imo. those wanting to cut him at his current salary are crazy imo. he's on a bargain contract when he's playing healthy.
His demise comes late in the season when his body breaks down from wear and tear of first 3 months. He can’t hold up for a full season anymore.

And Zach’s back is getting to be the same way

I call BS on your slam as regards Zack. But then you apparently WANT our guys to go down.

When Tyron Smith is playing, he's still has elite numbers. Last year he only allowed 2 sacks and 10 pressures in 416 pass attempts, #1 pressure rate in the league. He ranked #2 overall at left tackle while missing 5 games with a sprained ankle.

Left Tackle Pressure Rate
Tyron Smith 1.8%
Trent Williams 2.9%
Rashawn Slater 3.6%
Jordan Mailata 4.1 %

We all know Zach Martin is the best on the interior, link is below.

It's great the Cowboys have had two centers we can all argue about. Both were exceptionally talented players

Last 2 years he’s had to miss time with the back beginning in November. Same as we saw with the start to Tyrons issues.

But to be fair, Its not like Donaldson was just any Joe Schmo center, yes he was at the tail end of his career but he was a 6 time Pro Bowler and even made the PB the two years he was with Dallas.

But yes I give the slight edge Fred.

And that's why we're in no hurry to replace him. 12 games with Tyron is better than 17 games without.

Maybe Tyler develops into a worthy tackle replacement when Tyron finally can't go no more, but there are few tackles in the league on Tyron's level so it's a lot to expect for anyone to be able to fill his shoes. I just hope that whoever has to cover the position the games Tyron will miss can do an adequate job.

So we got the best oline still, top 5 TE, top 5 play caller, our WR are awsome too, QB top 5......whats the problem then?
The problem is that our fans are idiots. Just read what they post here on a daily basis.
