Injuries...

News of the 49ers parting ways with Ford shouldn't surprise anyone. In March, general manager John Lynch made it clear that the veteran pass rusher's time with the team was likely over.
"I don't see a lot of hope in him being a factor for us on the field moving forward," Lynch told reporters.

At the start of the 49ers' three-day mandatory minicamp in June, head coach Kyle Shanahan provided an update on Ford's health. However, he also echoed Lynch's earlier projection for the defensive end's future.
"I know we've gotten a good bill of health from his doctors, saying how good he is in this spot," Shanahan said. "We're going to check him out with our physical. I do not expect him to be on our team."
Lynch discussed Ford's future on Tuesday, as the 49ers prepared to kick off training camp.

"He's not [here]," Lynch told reporters. "I can tell you guys [that] the next couple of days, they're working through some things, league PA and all that. But I think you guys will see a transaction, and we'll leave it at that."

We don't do free agency here.
At least not big time ones.

Youre right. This would be the kinda guy we sign. A name people kinda remember, who's been hurt, and a relative non factor for the last few years. We give him some nice cheap money and then say things like "we really like the way he looked when he played and think he can help this football team in many different ways"

He played in 6 games the pat two years. I think the Cowboys can do without that level of availability.

Especially after Mr Jones proclamation about "availability" was one of the key factors in deciding whom to keep vs release.

Go Cowboys!

He'll be remembered for his pro-bowl season ending with him making a boneheaded mistake that cost KC going to the Super Bowl.

Doesn't seem he's going to be healthy enough to compete. With that said it's worth a Cowboys due diligence process. Hehe
