Even though Skip is a Clown, he has a pint and if JJ went and got Smith , along with the rest of the squad!! That would put this defense in a situation that could be something we haven’t had in a long time.

It’s not happening. They are not paying him what he could get. They’re going to have resign Micah trevon & ceedee soon.

To me you can't ever generalize these things. Not all teams are alike and not all ILBs are alike so to say it isn't how teams are built is not valid IMO. But, I think the point being made (whether you agree or not) is that it allows Parsons to move to Edge. So we break even (somewhat relatively speaking) at ILB but gain an All Pro Edge rusher. This is the exact reason I wanted to sign Wagner. It enables us to play Parsons up front more. We had no LBs in the SF game and he wasn't able to do so and IMO it hurt us. Also, all of our LBs are being paid very little for a reason. They are either unproved or proven to not be worth more. So it's not like anyone is being held back by a move like this. If we were to trade for Smith (we won't) there would still be plenty of LB snaps to go around and it would likely result in both Barr and LVE being gone next year unless they excelled so the younger guys would not be blocked anyway, And damn would we help our nickel D with Cox and Smith in coverage and Parsons rushing.

To me it makes us way better and giving up a high pick is worth it. Where I draw the line is at giving him a record deal. He just isn't good enough for a Leonard type deal. If you could get him for under $15M per though I'm in.

We are not getting him, but that would free up 11 to roam either side like LT and unleash holy terror on teams.
