We'll just enjoy him for 3.75 more years and then be excited about a 3rd round comp pick.

Micah is a smart man he knows who built this defense...I like Will McClay but DQ makes this thing go.

Hope Stephen is listening because keeping Parsons and Diggs is priority 1a n 1b.

You don't trade someone who has that much impact on the game. QB is a crap shoot. You never know what you're going to get.
How are you going to pay him ?
Top of the draft QBs generally aren't a crapshoot. They lead to super bowls

Has this site swallowed a complete bottle of stupid pills?

Let me see if I can get this right.

1. Trade Micah for two #1 draft picks. Then use one to draft a QB. So Dallas drafted the best player they have received in perhaps twenty something years, and people want to trade him? And then toss the dice on an actual quality QB would be coming out the year Dallas would need to use the extra picks, and Dallas can get to the right spot to get this wunderkind.

In the town I live in you are required by law to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle. Perhaps some of these posters need to consider this to be de rigueur in their everyday lives for walking, sitting, running and lying in bed since head injuries appear to have created this type of thinking.

2. Trade Micah at the deadline in the last year of his rookie contract. This seems to have merit, but the sinister aspect to this is no player should ever get a raise and all players should be on rookie contracts.

So, you build around a generational player to create a defense which can dominate for several years. But then you jettison that player when he deserves a raise. What does that say about the loyalty of the franchise to the players who excel?

Or, view it another way. What has the front office done that is so superior with drafting over the last 26 years to make you think they will pick the exact players needed to replace what potentially is a future Hall of Famer?

Jerry gave Quinn a raise. Jerry has stated, "Imagine the size of the check I would write to win another Super Bowl."

That time is here. Quinn needs to be paid more than about a third of the head coaches as DC. And then seriously make the decision on moving him up to the Big Chair when the time comes.

I blame EA Sports, who created Madden for this type of watered down fandom who thinks you can just push a couple of buttons, stack your team with just the best players, while keeping them on rookie contracts.

I cannot confirm this, but I am certain every time I see posts like this, the poster does not own any shoes with laces, but all his footwear is secured by Velcro.
Thanks for playing lol

thats just the feel good talk you always hear players make when things are going well. If Dan leaves next year and goes to the Raiders... hows Micah going anywhere when we could keep him for 3 more years easily?

Its just talk for the sake of talking.

They went to the playoffs with Mitch Trubisky at QB.....twice

Pretty sure that was not what they were hoping for when they traded 2 1st for him. 4 years on the team for two first round picks?

By the way, we got two one and done playoff losses without trading 2 first for someone in that same timeframe.

Thats not his fault. He did exactly what they traded him for. Its their fault for drafting Trubisky over Mahomes and Watson. The Bears just getting to the playoffs with Trubisky is one hell of a feather in Macks cap

How did trading Mack for two #1's work out for Oakland
To be fair, it didn't work out too well for Chicago either.

So the chances of getting two 1's for ANY player that does not play QB is going to be a long shot.

Problem is they didn't have a QB. Just getting to the playoffs twice with Trubisky at the helm is impressive. Mack did his part

Even if they wanted to trade Dak (they don't) they can't because his contract has a No trade clause.
No trade clause simply means they can't trade him without Dak's acknowledgement, not that he can't be traded.

If Jerry traded two firsts just to "get to the playoffs", we all would be ripping him and saying how we need a REAL GM.

Just sayin'

But it wouldn't have been that players fault they picked a horrible QB. It wasnt the trade for Mack that failed, it was the other personnel moves. Trading for Mack was probably the only thing they did right from 2018 up until now

So much this. Below. Two first round picks for a 4 year rental and two "yay we made it" one and done playoffs. You know during that same timeframe Dallas had two one and done playoff exits without an overly expensive rental.

Two first round picks (plus two others) to rent a player for 4 seasons is not what I would call doing the right anything. Especially if that player was not the one player you needed to put you over the hump, and he wasn't as you so eloquently noted in their drafting mistakes.
