That guy has done less with more every single season he's been in Atlanta except the year he lucked into them going 13-3 before getting swiftly bounced in the first round of the playoffs.

They need to make a change. Boggles my mind how this guy still has a job.

I agree Smitty. The meltdown today was horrific to watch. Blowing a 21 point lead in the manner they did will be hard to explain.

That was the WORST coached game - on both sides - I have ever seen. And *** was Detroit thinking running the ball on 3rd down with 25 seconds to go with no timeouts? They would have had 20 seconds to get the FG team out there if Atlanta had not committed a penalty.

They were unable to get the FG team out there in 40 seconds a couple plays later, so what the heck were those morons thinking that they could do it in 20??!??

Mike Smith was a coach everyone here yearned to have just a couple years ago. Funny how things change.

I had no idea why they kept spiking the ball with 1 minute left. On the falcons side of the field!

I never yearned for that bum, that's for sure. He's always been unable to motivate his team in key moments and the play calling selection has always been erratic. If people think Jason Garrett had poor play management, they need to watch some of the games in Mike Smith's Atlanta tenure. Absolutely mind-boggling.

It's a process
The team is heading in the right direction

The Atlanta defense allowed a long TD pass on a 3rd and 25... yes 3rd and 25.

The whole thing in Atlanta needs to be blown up and started over.

Kinda like when Dallas blew a 23 point lead in the second half, at home, last year?

I don't necessarily think Smith is a great coach, but I don't buy the Falcons' roster at all. Outside of Julio Jones, they don't really have any playmakers on offense, the OLine is in shambles, and their defense is abysmal. You could have Vince Lombardi coaching them and they'd still be pretty bad.

Mike Smith has been the coach since 2008. We have seen the peak of his coaching success and are now seeing the valley. At their best the Falcons weren't able to get over the hump and make a Superbowl. Now they are toiling at the bottom of the league. Do you keep giving him a chance knowing that even though they get things going in the right direction they still may not build a team good enough to make or win a Superbowl?

I agree. He's made as many, perhaps more, blunders as Garrett, in terms of game management.
