A big thank you to all the veterans out there... including my daughter.

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918, a truce was put into place that ended up till then, the war of all wars.

God bless all our men and women who served this great nation, and to those currently serving today.

I'm truly thankful for all of you!

Thanks to our veterans some of which made the ultimate sacrifice. We appreciate all those on active duty especially those in harms way. Semper Fi to my Marine brothers and Oorah! to my Army ones.

Oorah is a Marine thing. I think you mean "hooah". :D

I'm about to reenlist for the 2nd time. About to hit 7 years now. I'm getting old.

The military ages you fast, I remember at 25 I was the old man in our platoon.

It's unfortunate it didn't quite work out that way. It's difficult for us to appreciate how shocking the carnage of WWI was to a horrified public.

Much gratitude and thanks to those who serve the country and willingly place themselves in those situations.

Thank you to all who have served. You are the real heroes. Reminds me of a t-shirt I recently saw:

It said:

. USA - Back to Back World War Champs

Thank God it's the USA and not our Cowboys fighting for our freedom. lol

Great point!

The general populous was stunned at the savagery of the war. Most participants were expecting a "glorious and exciting" conflict that would end after only a few weeks.

It stunned the rich & poor, the influential and the influenced, the young and the old around the globe on how far and wide the conflict extended.

We're only a 100 years removed from a world that was radically different in the way much of it was governed as compared to today.

And of course from WWI sprang most of conflicts since.

Yeah I don't know if it's old age or the army but I don't really argue on here anymore. :D

Also the Cowboys have sucked the fire out of me. I still yell and get mad when they lose but I forget about it 20 mins after the game.
