For once, the Thursday night game provided some excitement.

The ugly uniforms withstanding, the Thursday night game turned into what might be considered the most exciting contest of the season thus far.
Certainly it was not the typical midweek contest.
Thursday Night Football is rarely an entertaining experience, and yet we saw the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams put together what might end up being the best game of the season. Unfortunately, the 49ers came up short, losing by a final score of 41-39. The 49ers drop to 0-3 on the season, while the Rams improve to 2-1.
The first half might not have been the best battle of the season, but that changed once the teams returned from intermission. The only thing that would have made it better is if they had donned their ‘real’ work clothes.

The top deep threat in the NFL thus far in 2017 is not the typical speed guy who separates himself quickly and opens the gap down field.

The Vikings coach compared Thielen to an outfielder playing a fly ball. Instead of blowing by the defensive back and letting the passer find him, he finds the ball and goes and grabs it.

Every NFL team has a series of superstars on both offense and defense who steal the limelight, but in order for a team to be successful, they need quality starters at every position and strong reserves/role players.
Often, it’s those role players who are ultimately the difference between a championship run or a story about what could have been.

Schefter says a source has informed him that the deal is “getting papered right now” and that the contract is “getting done,” though it could take weeks for an official announcement to be made.

Myles Garrett shed his walking boot Wednesday and joined the bike brigade at practice.
It wasn't practice, but it was progress.
Cleveland has a lot invested in Myles Garrett, and if they are to begin the process of turning things around on the shores of Lake Erie a large part of the effort is going to have to come from the Texas A&M product.
Garrett might not make it this week, but soon he will be making plays for the Browns defense.

The Detroit Lions, once a doormat of the NFL, are one of the remaining unbeatens in the league. Fans in the Motor City have experienced heartbreak before, but Samuelsen makes a case for why this will not be one of ‘those’ teams.
The Lions are 2-0 precisely because they’ve easily been the better team in their first two wins. Wins, by the way, that came against two teams that certainly had playoff aspirations and both of which were betting favorites when the games began.
If the Lions survive against the Atlanta Falcons, people will start to talk.
