Like many fans, my hope is fading about making the playoffs so starting to think about the draft although my first thoughts are going toward needs both in the draft and free agency and frankly possibly the coaching staff.

From the coaching staff, believe it is time for Coach Marinelli to retire and let Matt Eberflus take the reins. As to needs, my thoughts only, is the need for a WR that can get separation (something it doesn't appear any of them are doing except for the brief appearances of Noah Brown), an OLB that will eventually if not sooner take Sean Lee's spot (love Lee but have to have a playmaker behind him that is essentially as good), a LG to solitify the line, a OT(LT) that would be a swing OT for now but could take Smith's spot if his back doesn't get better, a CB/S/LB hybrid that could help in special situations, and possibly a RB that would compliment Elliott and Smith (don't see Morris or McFadden here next year).

Knowing how Dallas approaches free agency, I do not harbor any wonderful thoughts about getting help through free agency if any help at all and certainly not a high price guy that might or might not help. Although I have to admit signing a Sammy Watkins does intrique me. Heck I would even welcome Josh Gordon if the Browns release him as many suspect, at least for a look see.

IMO, I don't see us drafting a DE especially if we resign Lawrence. I believe the coaching staff wants to see what we have in Tapper and it appears that they haven't given up on Gregory either. It is not to say we shouldn't and it is just what we do.

So here goes.
1. Harold Landry Boston College OLB 6'3" 240 - instinctive LB who can also play DE, a leader on defense, runs down runner, good cover guy, sure tackler
2. Calvin Ridley Alabama WR 6'1" 208 - always seems to get separation, good hands, makes the difficult catch, willing blocker on run plays, does not hesitate to go across the middle. (Other choice would be Courtland Sutton SMU WR 6'4" 215)
3. Dallas Goedert South Dakota State TE 6'3" 255 - hard worker, never say die attitude, good hands, good speed, good blocker and would take over for Witten.
4. Andrew Nelson Penn State OT 6'6" 305 - doesn't wow you but extremely steady, doesn't make mistakes, good feet, quick study and understands blocking assignments
4. Larry Allen Jr. Harvard OG 6'4" 290 - small school but his father was from Sonoma State and how did that turn out, believe his potential is higher than his father, could step in at LG tomorrow and start
4. Ogbonnia Okoronkwo Oklahoma OLB 6'1" 245 - could also be used as a speed rusher, has good instincts and decent cover skills, versatile guy
5. Bo Scarbrough Alabama RB 6'2" 228 - could be another brusier with speed
5. Michael Gallup Colorado State WR 6'1" 195 - very underrated WR, could be one of those hidden gems
5. Godwin Igwebulke Northwestern S 6'0" 200 - possibly the best safety prospect no one has heard of
6. Adonis Alexander Virginia Tech CB 6'3" 195 - tall corner that has regressed this season but has the talent
7. Trent Tanking Kansas St. LB/RB/S/CB/Wildcat/WR 6'2" 225 - this kid plays anywhere he is asked and plays well, heart and soul of the team, true football player, only problem is where do you want him to play

We should have 4 supplement picks, two in the 4th and two in the fifth.

I am sure that everything will continually change over the next 157 days.

Love the Landry pick.

Just can't see Ridley lasting to the 2nd round, especially the middle of the 2nd round. Gallup is flying up draft boards. Adonis in the 6th is higghway robbery.

Hiring Eberflus is a nothing move. No, no, no.

Lol at Ridley lasting until round 2. Gotta love these mock drafts that squeeze in top guys to fall to us in later rounds
