Jerry was a strong proponent for protection of payers with dramatic health issues. Concussion was a very high visibility arena, but Jerry added his measure to the shouldering of the needs...by the NFL.

Just to be honest, do you really feel like all teams presently honor the intent of the rules...or even fully comply? This fan isn't that naïve.

Yea, Jerry tries to walk the talk and support those of his players who need some type of 'outside' help. I respect the man a lot, for his humane character...

Independent Neurological Consultant is the final arbiter.

Now supposedly he is employed by the NFL so that is why the NFL is the final authority

Stick one's head in the mud all one chooses, but compliance and the very establishment, including who administers THEIR PROGRAM, is done by the owners. Now, try and make a non-Jerry remark, all day...

10 years ago, he wouldn't have missed a single game.

They need to expand NFL rosters to account for these hear injuries, and get rid of game day inactive lists.

Not the first time something like this has happened this season. I don't know how much longer the NFL is gonna last now that everyone takes head injuries seriously.
This is exacerbated by the fact this is not being left in the control of team docs. The NFL learned their lesson and we will learn just how much if that information they've been guarding so carefully from the players' attorneys gets released to them.

I have absolutely 0 doubt that they did not have the players welfare as priority 1 when they got their bells rung. And there was a time, not too long ago, that players were fearful of seeking a second opinion and they were at the mercy of the team orthopedists but thankfully that changed.

NFLPA will have something to say about that as salaries will be affected. How many want to give up anything to expand the rosters?

Neither the players nor the team have anything to do with the protocol. He isn't being allowed to play and he has no input.

Another reason to tender this UDFA/practice squad player for a first.

I think it's less likely now than it was a week ago but fingers crossed!

DI was/is a nice find but this trend of missing games due to injury/off the field stuff is getting riskier.

I'd rather someone else pay up and take that risk.

I read somewhere else that Irving feels fine, but is still experiencing headaches.

At this point I just hope there aren't any long term effects.

I think this is actually par for the course with concussions. The Cowboys may just be one of the few teams in the league that actually take them seriously.

As long as the player has symptoms, he can't be cleared. Most players probably usually just lie about it to get back on the field sooner.

Don't even attempt to apply a foundation of a principal, that took a lot of heart AND Jerry Jones fighting for players...as merely an application of a now established procedural element in the NFL.

First, Son, the owners, despite conflicts, established those standards...

As in administrative law, which molded the Player's Association's venue, due to contractual agreement prior to current events. The courts are still the final say on those elements involving a Union Contract and the NFL.

Don't be such a bore as well as insultive by further implying that the makers of those very binding elements, can NOT change them. AND, compliance is still on the team level...with their medical staff involvements.

Either take the whole picture in a discussion, or just shut your insults up...Son.
