First round grade

I was just wondering if LVE was one of our first round grades and was he ranked our best player available when we were on the clock at pick nineteen. Thoughts? Go Cowboys

He was.

Leighton Vander Esch worked out at the Star and spent significant time with Sean Lee when he was here. They thought he was a Brian Urlacher 2.0 and DC Rod Marinelli coached Urlacher in Chicago #Cowboys

That’s pretty high praise

Im pretty sure he was. He was one of the 6 players they were targeting. Right behind Vea and James

I don’t think it was a reach at all. Most had him around 20.

Mayock had him ranked the #20th best overall player. He’s pretty spot on.

But likely sarcasm :) got me ;)

But I don't think Dallas would have taken James even if he was on the board

If he works out like Frederick I’ll be thrilled. We easily got the value Frederick’s draft position suggested - probably more.

I see tons of folks saying we should have drafted Landry...... But here we are and not a single team drafted him in the first round. I'm not upset at Leighton he has huge potential. Let's hope he achieves it

Yeah, read that article couple days ago, the pick was telegraphed and shouldn't surprise anyone, another workout warrior reach along the lines of Byron Jones hopefully it doesn't turn out to be the 2nd coming of Barbie C.!

He for sure was top of the board when they were on the clock.
Thats from multiple sources.
Im also sure he had a 1st round grade from everything we heard leadi g up to the draft.

Would've been nice to somehow get Derwin James in a small trade up...if any team would do it...but it didn't happen.

We'll see how it goes, I guess
