NFL should make a new rule in last two minutes where calls like that are reviewed

Has to be on the table. League can’t allow it to decide who gets into a SB. That’s all. I get Goff had a missed face mask, etc but there had to be a solution

That is the only solution and not in just the last two minutes.
I agree with the last 2mins idea, but if all PI gets reviewed, then why not holding? Both are subjective judgement calls.

Because if they ever start reviewing and debating PI and holding calls, get ready for 6hr NFL games, lol!

Wonder how they did it in the 60's and 70's?

Well, for one there wasn't as much illegal then. Just by sheer reduced quantity of possibilities, there would be less missed calls. The PI against Benny Barnes (if I remember right, maybe it was Cliff Harris) in the Super Bowl against Pittsburgh would be a judgement call today as to whether he had his head around or not. Didn't matter then because all that mattered was whether there was contact before the ball arrived.

Just think we have faster, bigger players and older, part time refs. We need a way to keep up and not decide who is going to a SB because of incompetence

I like the idea the OP proposes. An alternative is to give each team 1 additional challenge for the game and all 3 can be used to challenge certain penalties.

In the 60s and 70s a lot of calls were just plain blown, and there was no replay to fix mistakes. The Houston Oilers should have gone to the Super Bowl one year instead of the Steelers. Mike Renfro had caught what would have been a game winning TD and had both feet in bounds in the endzone, but he was incorrectly ruled out of bounds.

Not just any game either... The Rams are not in the Super Bowl if that was called. Someone needs fired over that crap. That was so easy to call, I don't see how you could miss it.

It makes me wonder if they could have a replay ref in the booth, who could page any ref on the field to let him know he blew a call. If it could be done quickly so as not to slow down the game, it could work. What we don't want to end up with however, is constantly stopping the game so that the ref can page upstairs to have every play checked. But I think that could be avoided.
