I see they are shopping at the dollar store Instead of purchasing quality!
Covington is the under the radar FA almost every analyst was taking about. Maybe you need to look at more then just the name on the jersey. Thats not saying he is going to be a pro bowler. But alot of teams liked this kid

Tells me he had 0 interest from any other team. Why would a 25 year old UFA take that deal 4 days into free agency otherwise?

Either way, it’s such a small contract that it’s insignificant and nothing to complain. But anyone thinking that this kid is anything other than an extremely replaceable body is delusional

Smart deal for a DT 3 that can end up starting some games.

I watched some clips of this kid and think he can be a quicker version of Antwuan Woods. Feeling slightly better now and will be even happier if Dallas can pick up a veteran safety (there's still decent ones out there), perhaps another d-lineman, and maybe a backup RB.
He has potential
He dominated against the titans last year

It’s not a contract to really complain about for him, but I really hope they don’t get into the practice of including things like sacks for extra money. That’s an incentive that can lead to playing outside of the scheme to try and pad stats. Especially if they give them out in bigger deals like, say Tanks.

Yup a lot of teams were interested...so much so that he took a deal with less than 1.5M guaranteed. But hey, it it makes you feel better to make things up that’s cool I guess. Whatever works

O the fact the team drafted a LB last year named Chris Covington....

I didn't remember that. I remember Grover from watching CFL games on ESPN in the 80s.

I can tell you how many yards Duane Thomas gained against the Dolphins (95) but don't ask me what I had for lunch last Friday.

Young will improve and wanted to go to a 4-3 defense. Great signing

its a max of 2.5mil with incentives and bonuses. This inserted into the contract is a telling point that there were other teams involved. Just because its not a multi yr deal with a big amount doesnt mean there werent other teams bidding for him. These incentives put more on table for him when other teams probably just gave him a set amount he could earn. It happens all the time. But i guess for you anything you dont see or understand just dont happen.

It amazing how much people dont know how this league works.

This young man is betting on himself to hit those bonus benchmarks. I like that attitude.
