Antwaun Woods came out of nowhere to become the starting nose tackle for the Dallas Cowboys and they would be wise to lock him up now rather than later.

Ever since Rod Marinelli joined the Dallas Cowboys as a defensive line coach (the position he took in 2013 before moving to defensive coordinator in 2014) he’s been spectacular about finding talented defensive linemen out of nowhere.

Marinelli is great about bringing in players and coaching them up to get the most out of them. Whether it’s a defensive lineman with incredible athleticism but no refinement — such as David Irving — or a powerful nose tackle who needs to learn how to use his strength, Marinelli gets them to shine...

I agree. He anchored the line and should have earned a long term deal.

Give him a tender, and see what happens. At worst we get a decent comp pick. And if they can retain some others on the DL, or stash a few like Wise on the PS. We will be ok.

The Cripplets have dominated all contract talks to this point. Most of us are wondering if the cap can survive such a hit, it will no doubt walk with a limp.

What is this love affair with JAGs????
Would Mr. Woods make the Patriots team? Would he make the Saints?
Dang right, Mateys, he wouldn't.

Maybe offer him a contract sometime during the year. I want to see if we get the same production out of him this year. He had a injury and his shoulder fixed. Let’s see how he has recovered.
Very logical. George selvie comes to mind. Is he a keeper or a one year wonder? No one knows at this time. Hoping he's a keeper.

With so many eyes on Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper, and Ezekiel Elliott when it comes to needing new deals, Woods continues to be overlooked. That shouldn’t be the case and locking him up now would allow Dallas to focus their attention elsewhere. It could also save them money as Woods will only see his price tag rise the more he develops under Marinelli in Big D.
That's probably very true.

Woods made some plays and looked good at times last year.

Anxious to see what he looks like in a couple of months.

He would probably bite on a lengthy, yet fairly cheap deal for the security, since he's not likely to be a huge in-demand FA but fits a role nicely here.

Well..I'll just say this....let's hope that injury in the playoff game was the reason he was getting pushed down the field. His play...opened the flood gates in the playoff loss.
