I haven't seen this posted anywhere but is this not a big deal? Do we just accept that most of these guys playing at the highest level are cheating?

You can take a quick look at a lot of these guys and tell they are on stuff.

Do we just not care that our NFL athletes are on the sauce? It made baseball a worse sport and probably wouldn't help the NFL at all either.

Gronk is still a monster.
But he specifically said he wanted to lose weight after football.
It was a goal to get down to 250 after always being around 268

But all these guys drop alot of weight after they retire, unless they get fat.
Look at Joe Thomas. Dude has already lost at least 50 lbs

Having said that, many players in the NFL have been dodging the system since the 70s. Drug testing has advanced too though

It’s just very odd to see someone that muscular back in February and in July they are so skinny.

Drug testing has advanced but so has the drugs and how to pass the test.

Lance Armstrong dosed at night and passed his tests in the mornings. Micro dosing is the new thing and I think performance enhancers and the NFL go hand in hand.

Guys stand to make $100 million, and you expect them not to cheat these days?

If other guys are doing it, do you really expect players not to? Many don't have a choice if they want a chance. Most guys aren't gifted with natural size and strength from just working out.

It's not about sports and winning anymore. It's only about making as much money as you can until you get caught and trying not to let that happen.

And injuries have to heal fast to hang around. Injured players are worthless to teams.

That means nothing. My friends daughter played softgball at Cal and married a guy that was the starting center. He played at 6'2" and weighed 310 if I remember correctly. After his SR season he was invited to camp undrafted by several teams. He was like, nah, im going to med school. EWithin 6 months he was probably down to 240 lbs and he was not using anything to plump himself up. As stated, these guys have to force themselves to eat some serious calories to be at that weight, and when they stop playing, they come back to a normal diet and drop the weight. I suspect the same with Gronk.

I think the problem is that too many old farts on here forget what it is like to have a metabolism.

They must be using something. A record 6,105 HR were hit in MLB in 2017. That's 1100 more than 1998 when Sosa and McGwire were juiced to the gills.
Some of it is the analytics of baseball changing the game. Players are realizing that it's pointless to not try to swing for the fences.

... I never got the feeling that Gronk was a user. He just has natural talent and knack for getting open and making big plays. Same goes for Brady. THis is coming from the least of Pats fan.

Someone who has the right body type, trains properly, eats right and takes supplements can put on a lot of weight. That being said, there are levels of testosterone, etc. that the NFL allows, since not every athlete has the same amount. It's a range, not an absolute number, so somebody who doesn't have a naturally high number can take testosterone supplements and still be in the "normal" range. Steroids can let you pack on muscle quickly by shortening the recovery time after workouts.

I doubt that any NFL player isn't on something, be it legal or otherwise, it's necessary to play the game, except for the physical freaks, always a few of those around....

Those 2 pictures don't prove anything other than he was in a strength program in the first photo and not in one in the second photo. Bulk goes away quickly when you stop lifting.

*I think I'd recently heard a brief news blurt on my T.V. just the other day, by some camera sports mug fleetingly pointing out similar observations in the MLB

No?,,,that 'rage induced tantrum' over his route being undercut& the pass picked off is wholly indicative of a juicer,,, when he jumps on interception dudes back & begins flailing away like a menopausal fish mongering wash woman,,,that one time, ya know? When the Zebra's ejected his gronk straight offa' the playing field,,, o_O

I don't even think they prove that. There are pictures from the 4th of July weekend, and he's still ripped and plenty big.

I’m not saying he did or didn’t use HGH but that picture would be the opposite of supporting HGH use. You don’t lose gains with HGH like you do with steroids, that’s the beauty of it minus the possibility of enlarged organs and head size along with a cro magnon forehead.
