I'm glad the Cowboys told him that his number had to come down and ultimately released him when he wouldn't.

He's in for a shock if he thinks he'll see anything close to those numbers anywhere else.

He wasn't on my list of wide receivers this team would be keeping anyway.
At best he would have been the fourth or fifth receiver on the team. No doubt Dallas wanted to pay the equivalent of what that level of player makes. Hurns thinks he can get more than a bare bones deal elsewhere I guess. This is likely the best move for both sides.

What does this mean though? Have the young guys shown enough in the mini camps or was this strictly about money?

Making room for Zeke, Cooper, Dak deals.

No way they were going to keep him or Austin for that money for 4th to 6th WR spots.
Plus I think they liked what they seen in Johnson. I still need to see it, but it was more about $$$ for his role.

I'm happy about it. Not for any dislike of Hurns, but more for the fact that this is a results business - or it should be anyway. And this shows me the Cowboys realizing that, which is always a good thing for me.

Now go and talk to Crawford!
