Is there a podiatrist in the house?

I believe when you have a reoccurring type injury that flares up like PF you walk and run different then your normal Gate, it causes other injuries.. hes had PF in the past and its flaring up most likely causing the other issues..

He’s just doing what all of the other nfl vets are doing to get out of some practice.

:) Better prognosis if it is treated appropriately I think. It deals with fatiguing smaller muscles and tendons that provide arch support. In the age of sports technology and equipment, even more attention needs to be given to the feet and shoes. Lots of force on such a small area. Maliek Collins has hopefully benefited.

so is this what you get when you have "flat feet?" I felt like I could barely walk one day. Started wearing shoes with better support and now I'm fine. Not completely pain free but much better.

I think he's the one they have to sign. They can franchise tag Dak and I really don't care one way or another what they do with Zeke at this point.

I fully expect that Elliott and the team will come to some sort of an agreement because neither party really has any other options. Nobody is trading for him. Not happening.

But Cooper is a top receiver and his contribution to changing the entire offense was undeniable. They will likely have to overpay more than they'd like, but his is the deal they have to get done. Even if it means taking it on the chin to do it.
Get is done before the Hill and Jones deals or we will have no choice but to overpay. There is a reason Cooper is willing to wait.

I'm curious to see if he and his agent will have that same amount of conviction when he's actually getting tackled, especially after this recent injury?

I feel I can speak on this, because I had plantar fasciitis that abated and turned into the outside of the heel pain (noted as intrinsic muscle strain).

The pain comes and goes, and while rest certainly helps, I reckon everyone is different.

I had 3 sets of steroid injections over 6 months (prednisone, not anabolic steroids), and it helped.

What's weird is that there are some days where I'll get up on a Saturday, and walk the dog for an hour. Then hit the gym for another hour or more (with like, 40 minutes of low-impact carido -elliptical/stairmaster), and then run errands and do yard-work, and have ZERO pain at the end of the day or even the next morning despite being on my feet all day (15K steps or more).

And then there are days, where I'm at work for 10 plus hours sitting at a desk, and don't get time to exercise, and my heel hurts that night and the next morning. And vice-versa. It makes no sense. But one thing it never did was stop me from doing what I wanted to do. Of course none of those things included running precise routes at full speed vs. world class DBs, so...there's that.

I was diagnosed with that 25 years ago and my doc gave me a cortisone injection and really jacked it up. I went to a podiatrist, and get this. In the Dallas area, there are these three identical triplets named Ashton and they're all podiatrists, how wacky is that? Anyway, he made these custom orthotics that fixed me up but I have to be careful buying flip flops and athletic shoes. But I am not a NFL WR running routes and pushing off the balls of my feet at full force either.

I do not think any issue with the foot of a skill position player is to be taken lightly. I don't think Bryant ever fully recovered which could have led to his Achilles and I recall Emmitt not being himself one season and he played all year with a problematic ankle/foot and they didn't tell anyone.

I know part of the plan is to not give the enemy any info that they can use but I remember very well when Kevin Smith ruptured his Achilles and came back, I watched him closely as that was the position I played in high school, and they were sending the WR at him and forcing him to plant that foot and that can really mess with a player's head. Damned shame too, he was really on his way and Sanders said he was the best CB he ever played with and he considered him CB1 on the D.

We'll just have to see how this plays out but when the player gives the diagnosis counter to what one of the team spinners gives, I go with the player.

I never had intrinsic muscle strain. But I did have plantar fasciitis which sounds like it’s similar.

The description you just gave makes a lot of sense to me. It was the same when I had plantar fasciitis. Once it was stretched out, warmed up and had the blood flowing to it. It felt fine, sometimes no pain or very minimal pain that didn’t stop me from
Doing anything.

But man once you sat down or laid down for a while
And it got “cold” and tightened up. The pain was brutal. And then when you would go to walk or stand after it tightening up. It hurt for a while until you loosened it up and got the blood flowing again.

If it’s similar to what Amari has. As long as he keeps it stretched out and warmed up. He should be fine on gameday I think. The morning after games will be painful though.

They do spin the tales. Players take a lot of punishment - gotta keep those tootsies healthy.
Hope those three podiatrist had interesting middle names!

First thing in the morning is the worst.
