I really think on that pass that when he saw Jarwin so wide open, he threw the ball before he was really ready. It was like, "Oh, wow, look how open he is. Here, take it!" It was one of those where you want to make sure you don't overthrow it because the TD is a sure thing if you can't just get it out there.
It didn't look like at least to me that he has full grip on the ball; that he was bobbling it a little bit. The pass to Gallup on the sidelines and the TD pass to Copper were nice. The knack on Dak coming out of college was that he was streaky and not consistently accurate but all qbs have their flaws. Brady was too skinny and had no arm strength to deliver the ball down field.

2nd highest adjusted completion % prior to Monday

The guys who compile this stat insist that the receiver's separation has nothing to do with CPOE, which is hard for me to believe. I would think that the less accurate the pass, the more separation has to play a role in whether the pass is complete or incomplete. They say there's no evidence that separation has any effect though.

Yeah. I think he just wanted to get it out there because of how wide-open Jarwin was. He may have readjusted his grip if he had had time, but when a player is that wide open, you just want to put it out there where he can adjust to it and still have time to score. I've seen plenty of QBs just lob the ball out there and let the receiver wait for it when they are as wide open as that.

All quarterbacks are worse under pressure, Brady and Rodgers included. However, I don't think you can chalk yesterday up to simply have time in the pocket. He was incredibly decisive and the ball was coming out very quickly. This wasn't a case of dropping back and reading the field all day from the pocket, these were good, quick, decisive reads before letting the ball fly.

Just a one game sample of course but very promising start from Dak. He was fantastic.
Of course all QB’s are worse under pressure but that’s why I said how they handle it is a large part of the difference between good and great. So far in their careers, Brady and AR much better than Dak under pressure IMO.

That doesn’t mean Dak can’t improve but last night may very well be the least amount of pressure and the worst secondary he’ll face all season minus Miami or maybe the Jets secondary. He had all day to throw and his receivers were largely uncovered due to blown assignments and the Giants lack of talent. He played a great game against a team he should have had a great game against.

I’m happy for him but it’s about what I expected. IMOF, I think it’s the Dak doubters that are over reacting to this the most. Most people who thought Dak was/is an above average QB and knew anything about this Giants defense (which I think most didn’t) wouldn’t have been so surprised. Did I think he would have a perfect passer rating? Not quite that good but I wasn’t shocked. I figured Baltimore would win handily too but was more surprised at Lamar Jackson’s 158.3 QBR and 5 TD passes.

That’s just it. I watched most other teams since Thursday night kickoff. There were some very questionable throws made, but many in here that just hate Dak wanna point out any bad throw solely made by Dak, but are noncommittal on the good ones. They’re miserable and awaiting the next “I told ya so” moment.

Laughable!
And to me if your a fan you should see this and be happy.. But for some reason they picked him to be a bust and don't want to admit they are wrong. This is only 1 game, and our Defense either has to tighten up or the giants have a good running game. I know barkley is a special player bu last year we were able to contain him and adjust. If our Offense didn't put points on the board and force them into passing them they get 200 yards rushing on us.

The first 10 passes or so were interesting because most of them were at least slightly behind the receiver so he had to reach back a little or turn, but they were all still close enough to be catchable. That's probably really more timing than accuracy though. But as the game went on, that disappeared and he was hitting people in stride.

I love the more vertical and over the middle routes we saw yesterday. That seemed very absent in past years, and yesterday showed that it wasn't because of Dak not being able to make those throws (as some detractors have suggested in the past).
Exactly. Practice and Pre season are one level of speed...a game on turf is a totally different speed. Understandable that it would be off a bit.

I don't think so. Dak has always had this accuracy. What you saw last nite was receivers getting open, something that has been in short supply since Linny took over.

Man, do you guys really not remember Romo scrambling scrambling scrambling until the WR's had all run their routes and started jungleballing it? Our schemes have been incompetent forever.

And Dak has something inside that is actually a huge plus. He has some sorta gene that makes him throw the ball into the ground when nothing is there. Yes, I know sometimes that can be annoying, but overall it keeps us from turning the ball over. And one thing that is common amongst pretty much all super bowl winning teams is that they don't turn the ball over on O.

He's more than accurate enough. Whether he's the next Tom Brady/Peyton Manning or not doesn't matter. The team has talent to win against anyone.

I get it glimmerman! Saquon was the only threat. Defense made it so. We did make a crucial stop on 4th.

Defense will need a few games before flying around and making plays. After all, we were 3-5 last year before we began to show our worth!

I’m not too worried. Usually the offense needs a few games. Not this time around.

I really think Richard and Marmalade will tighten things up. Yes, Marmalade was not a typo!
