Aaron Donald is 280, arguably the best DT in the game. We don't need big fat guys on the dl. We need legit d linemen who aren't rotational players. A true NT and 3 tech that can disrupt would be nice.
And he plays next to Brockers who is a huge monster.

Seems like some fans want a prototype Freddie gilbert, and certain girth and size measurements must instantly means " bigger means better ".

but what they don't get is size along does not instantly mean bigger is better. Do these fatties " play" up to their size of their girth and bulk ?
do they alter or change the dynamics of the oppositions run game due to their play ?
and i'm assuming these fatties are the 330-350 pounds big boyz ?

if we go around the league to the better run defense teams that play the 4-3 schemes, how many " fatties" are we bound to find ?

the Ravens continue to get those " fatties" due to the preference of their 3-4 two gap scheme and they tend to find fatties that know how to
play as they end up in the pro bowl ( Michael Pierce, Brandon Williams, and now ex-Aggies Daylon Mack)

- one of the issues I've had with Rod Marinelli with prototype SIZE - is his insistence on that this 1 tech role has to be " quick twitch" or have pass rush traits.
so we would have never had a chance at an (undrafted) Damon Snack Harrison (during his prime) who is a proven bulky, immovable force, simply because
he is an ill-fit and no-go for Marinell's type and preferences. (although apparently Vita Vea was an " exception " at draft time consideration)

- Also have issues with this continuing, on-going revolving door at 1 tech with this getting these bargain based vets and low regards round picks instead of going after
proven dominant run stoppers and at least investing in mid round regarded draftees this " Band-Aid " approach and this thinking of Marinelli-magic is
costing us in the long run.

I’m sorry, but I can’t buy into the thought process that out defense is playing well at this point. Do I think they have the potential? Yes. Are they doing it at this point? No.

Linebacking play hasn’t been as good as last year, but I think that is rust. Lee seems “done”.

DB play has been OK. A few bad angles, but Ok.

DL play has sucked. Very little QB pressure.

The Giants and Skins are not great offensive teams. Barkley is a stud but that’s all the Giants have. The Skins will be a top 10 drafting team.

I’m sorry but I’m not watching the same defense you are bro. I have “hope” but right now Tank belongs on a milk carton for $100M.

I don't make the stats. I just post them.

Like week 1, they focused on stopping the run. Skins has 47 rushing yards and a 2.8 yards/carry average.

One of the Skins TDs came after the Cowboys offense turned the ball over and gave the Skins a short field.

The only issue with the Cowboys defense is that they need to force more Field Goals when teams get into the redzone.

Yeah, last week they got gashed by the best back in football, this week they dominated a mediocre running game. Not sure I'm hitting the panick button yet. If anything I'm worried about the inconsistency at linebacker. That's a unit that should be lights out.
More than half of Saquon's running yards were the responsibility of DBs. On the long run, Xavier lost his gap, and then A Brown got run over.

The DL is fine against the run.

We need DT's who can take on the center/ guard and still shed them in order to make the tackle. We hae guys who are big enough but they need to play with more power, more leverage, and shedding ability.

I am not against stats. I’m just saying I am drawing a different conclusion (at this point) than you are.
