I'm not expecting Gregory to be back until week two of the 2020 season. It's still the old CBA and suspension get longer not shorter. He was suspended a year last time out.

I'm not sure how true that will be with Gregory. He hasn't been with the team since January. It took him half of last season to get up to speed. If he doesn't come back before week 8, I think I'd rather just see him next year.

No. Can't trust him. But trust doesn't have much to do with it. If he's available *and* up to speed, which probably takes a while, then you play him and he helps.

Exactly, plus all he will be able to do is go for the qb, and the DE has other things to defend at times, and gregory was missing those last time he played.
you cant be out of football as much as he has and step in and be good.

That's a simpleton viewpoint.

Gregory does not cost the team money (cap space) while suspended.

Gregory does not accrue time towards free agency while suspended.

If Gregory's suspension is lifted he has value to the team.

Hope is not a strategy. This isn't a charity organization. They need people they can depend on.

Irving doesn't cost the team anything either because he isn't on the roster, and if Irving were to recommit and finally become active then he too would have value. Whether or not Gregory is further away from free agency is kind of irrelevant if he never plays.

The only real difference between the two is the fact that people have accepted that one of them is a lost cause while still holding out hope for the other.

The day Gregory's suspension is lifted is when there will be a meaningful difference between the two. Until then, they offer the team just as much as you or I.

seriously... wth do you expect them to say???? Well, we have a made a great offer to Dak and he is being a selfish sob. So blame dak and his people for us not having a deal.
