At 3-2 are any of these NFC teams contenders?

I'd rather just tank this season, if I'm being honest. Let's be real here, this team will NOT be able to handle the bigger, better teams if they even make it to the playoffs (which I severely doubt). They are too undisciplined and make way too many mistakes. Why not just "tank" and get JG fired and a higher draft pick?

:facepalm: 3-2 and tied for divisional lead? My goodness.......lol

No, way it is too early for tank talk.
Give any team 10 games to see where they are at, if they even have a 3-7 record.
Last year 3-5, everyone was saying tank. And look what happened. A 7-1 run, with a playoff win.

in 1990 Dallas was 3-7, looking to be a 10 or 11 loss season following that 1-15 1989 season.
They won 4 in a row to get to 7-7. Needed 1 win to get a WC. Aikman got hurt in the Philly game, they lose, and Babe Laufenberg could not get the team a win against a dismal Falcons team. Then even at 7-9 they had a chance to make the playoffs. All the Rams had to do was beat the Saints, in which they were ahead, and Morton Anderson misses a last second FG so Rams would have won, but offsides, and Anderson made the FG on his 2nd attempt, Saints went to the playoffs at 8-8.
At 7-9 we had the tie breaker over the Saints.

Then we would have went to Chicago with Aikman back for the WC round, and Chicago was not all that good or at least beatable, and had injuries.

Eagles are looking really solid again. I have a feeling the next game against them will be pretty ugly.

Rams should be 4-1; they are still a great team but Goff seems rattled lately

Bears have an elite defense but serious concerns at QB

Vikings are average just like the Cowboys

Sorry, but that is dumb, not to mention defeatist...

We are every bit as good as Green Bay (and/or the Saints)... and had we not dug ourselves a 28 point deficit (and a significantly lopsided penalty deficit), we likely would have won that game.

And the Saints? I felt was VERY winnable, with our D holding the Saints to 4 FGs, and had we not completely changed our gameplan from the first 3 games to last year's run up the middle on 1st down (all game long)... we would have scored 20+ easily...

We could easily be 4-1, if not 5-0... and after the next 2 wins, all the Negs will start to come back around... we go through this every time we face adversity. But to 'tank' the season, after a 3-2 start? Seriously??

Never give up, always fight to the end. No matter what.

Rams and Eagles because of coaching. We know McVay and Pederson can get it going

Dallas isn't a contender out of these teams, thats for sure.

Panthers D is pretty darn good and CMC is top 3 RB this season. I can't say they don't contend. They have the Saints in their division, but they have a shot at the wildcard. They're better than Dallas at this point IMO. If they had a healthy Cam, they'd def be a top 3 in the NFC.

As for the others, I can see any of these teams making it to the playoffs besides Dallas just based off talent and gameplay I've seen, along with competent coaching, which Dallas severely lacks. I'd also like to add that these teams have a passionate energy that makes them good in the game. They look like they want to be on that field every Sunday, meanwhile, the same CANNOT be said for our team.

Rams played good ball against the Seahawks in the 2nd half and almost caught up. Would've won had their kicker made it.

Vikings lost against teams (division rivals at that) with good offenses and they played good last week. They have Diggs and Thielan. If Kirk can get himself in gear, this team is in good shape. Their defense is also pretty good and coaching is competent.

Bears are in the same situation as the Vikes. Elite defense, mediocre offense, but if they can get in gear, they'll be a team to beat. They tried to come back in that Raiders game though. Not too sure what happened with the Bears in that game.

Eagles- I can't even tell. They got beat up by a mediocre team (Falcons) and they lost against a pretty serviceable team (the lions), and then beat teams like GB (barely won). They blew out the Jets (albeit with Falk at center). I'm going to have to see more from them to truly evaluate them.

-I'd also like to add that the Lions and the Bucs are better than Dallas right now at this point in time.

I agree

I also see that you and I have the same Cowboy and NFL watching prescription glasses

Unpopular to most but oh well

It's early in the season and any of these teams could go on a win streak to put themselves in contention much like we did after going 3-5 last year. Obviously we need to beat a winless jets team then beat the iggles to maintain control of our division going into the bye week. I think the Cowboys, Vikings, Rams are the only 3 teams who have a real chance to rattle off a string of wins but what do yall think?

Each 3-2 teams losses:
Cowboys: Packers 4-1, Saints 4-1
Rams: Bucks 2-3, Seahawks 4-1 (side note the rams have also dropped 2 in a row)
Vikings: Packers 4-1, Bears 3-2
Bears: Packers 4-1, Raiders 3-2
Panthers: Rams 3-2, Bucks 2-3
Eagles: Lions 2-1-1, Falcons 1-4 Talk about playing down to competition
Sure there are contenders because either the Cowboys or Eagles will win the East and one of the others will be a WC, based on how things stand at this moment. And as we've seen, the moment can change unexpectedly or with an injury, expectedly.

I still do not see a dominant team in the NFC.

Lions are actually quality this year. Their only loss is when they almost beat Kansas City (yes, seriously). I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they win the north. Very NE-esque defense, you’ll see when you play them.

I would say that of that list, the only one I can say for certain that can't contend would be the Panthers.
I say the only team that will contend for the nfc championship is the rams. the rest and that includes dallas is a wildcard team that either will be one and done or may win the wildcard game and then lose in the division round.
