What has happened to the defense?

MONDAY MORNING SHOULD BE A MASS EXODUS OF ALL THE SAD EXCUSES FOR COACHES..except Kitna and Moore...FIRE THEM ALL JERRY!!!!!!!!!!!! DO IT GAWD PLEASE.

It was a pelvis issue in training camp, and vertigo in recent weeks.

He's been whiffing on JAG's in coverage and in the run game though. I think that Colts game last season broke this defense and other teams roll out there with the same blueprint every week now.

Real mystery. Didn't I read somewhere that the LB scheme was changed somehow?

The same thing that was wrong last year is wrong this year. They don’t consistently create turnovers. The very good teams create turnovers. Also Dlaw and the dline aren’t creating enough pressure.

when most teams lose at any level..the ah schucks thing "we'll get em next time" doesn't fly. ITS PAST TIME FOR FIRINGS. Status quo has stagnated the teams energy. We been figured out and out coached and schemed. NOT Changing is just weird.

We didn't acquire a couple of key positions in free agency during the offseason DT / S to take our D to the next level.

Our run first control the clock Offense is not build for comeback shootout type games. That's why we drafted Zeke to keep the Defense off the field to manage the game running the ball. It's more like what happened to our O line? Who knows!

Theres truth here.

Ball control, paper cut offenses are this team's kryptonite because our own offense takes too long to warm up every game.

Just shorten the game vs Dallas and you will win, because the D will give you on average two huge plays per game and their confidence is shot if we are behind when it happens.

This exactly.................our run defense has been schemed and the rest of the league is following the blue print.

The inside trap where the RB can flow backside is killing this run D because our DTs are too undersized to fill the gap and that lets blockers get to the second level on our LBs. To counter, we have to bunch our DTs which allows outside contain to fail or we "press up" with the LBs to fill the gaps the DTs are getting washed out of. They either guess wrong and hit the wrong gap or they guess right but get blocked by the backside wash or end up out of position by overrunning play side and not maintaining containment on backside.

In short, its just a horrible scheme we are running with players that dont fit the scheme to begin with. We should be using huge, run stuffing DTs to clog the running lanes and keeping our LBs "clean" to flow play side. That would be a huge improvement right there. Next, stop with this stupid alignment where the DTs are split around the center and the DEs are lined up on the outer shoulder of the OTs, its like some weird version of the "wide 9" the Eagles played under Chip Kelly but we are even screwing that up.

Bottom line...................we have a bad scheme and the players we have dont fit that scheme. Either need new scheme or new players.
