Yep, lots of no huddle, especially after good gains. I don't normally like too much of that because it can kill your defense, but keep the Patriots on the defensive.

So E, what’s your take on WHY the Boys aren’t proactive on this? They HAVE TO BE aware of it! Who has the agenda, and what is it?

It held Mahomes and Goff scoreless through halftime in the AFC championship and Super Bowl.

Dak has a lot better talent around him than Darnold for sure and is a better quarterback as of today. (Good gosh, how did we lose that Jets game?)

It'll be a major litmus test for where Dak really is right now.
Inside pressure held Mahomes and the Chiefs scoreless through halftime, and then...31 points.

This is what I think he’ll probably do, too. Hope to get a couple of turnovers disguising things in obvious passing situations as we’ve shown well cough it up on deflections or overthrows on crossing routes. Then just don’t make mistakes on offense. Suffocate us like a snake and break it open late in the game if we’re not careful.

This game is all about taking care of the football.

Which makes it extra dangerous, because we’ll probably try to be extra aggressive.

Well, two can play this game. Here's a Jedi mind trick for Brady.

Looky who's available....

Imagine Ivie lined up next to Covington and you're a 50 year old QB who can't move.

Turnovers will be the story this game . Patriots will force them with their defense.

We will need a near perfect game with no turnovers, limiting penalties which kill drives or big plays. And getting off to a fast start and some resemblance of a running game.

Being one dimensional Patriots will crush us.

And that’s just on offense. Defensively we will need to get in Brady’s face and I wouldn't be surprised if their running game gashes us.

That's a tall order for Dallas...

Dak is a vet now.
nearly 4 full years of starting

But yes, even with all of our weapons, BB will find a way to make it tougher.
NE probably has the deepest secondary in the NFL and two pretty study top corners

I heard someone say they could just put Gilmore on Gallup and take him our, then double Cooper
Still leave Cobb, Zeke/Pollard,and theTEs to deal with.

Generally, I'm not a fan of no huddle except for specific planned times within a game. It can really backfire on you if it doesn't work . Your defense is gassed by halftime.

However, in games like this, I think you have to be aggressive to win. No coach is going to outsmart Belichick, so take him out of the equation if you can.

Great test for us.

Dak is not a "vet". A vet is someone that has played for a long, long time. Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Rivers, Roethlisburger, etc. Dak is still a young QB thats developing. Vets don't develop as they've already reached and peaked.

You see the term “vet” a bit differently

Thats fine. Not big deal at all.
QBs continue to develop their whole career, imo.

I promise you, Dak and the team see him as a vet.

The guy thinks the qb sucks..yet, his game plan to beat the greatest qb and hc combo that this league has ever seen is to be aggressive and put the game in the qbs hands...

Makes total sense

the jones boys !! and the heir apparent and future GM there on the right
They look like they just got a copy of pats game plan and are studying it.
Marinelli now knows how to defend it, and the kid on the right barely knows where he is much less what is going on.

Nice breakdown. Unfortunately, our coach isn't capable of game planning beyond "beat your man" so not thinking this game goes our way.

Running the ball would be to our benefit so it will be the one thing Belichick takes away.

After the past 2 games this doesn't seem nearly as tough as it once did.

Belichick was the first to employ a unique method of coverage for passing teams. I expect him to do so this week.

For years, and still today, most teams put their top corner on the other teams top receiver. Others, like Dallas, like to just leave their corners on the left or right so that there's more down-by-down familiarity for each of them.

Belichick likes to do something quite different. Instead of lining up the uber-talented Stephone Gilmore on Amari Cooper all game like most coordinators would, he does very much the opposite. Usually, Belichick likes to put Gilmore on the #2 receiver (Gallup), and then line up his other corner on the best receiver with a safety over the top all game. With a guy like Gilmore and a gimpy Cooper, the idea is to force Dak to look to others instead.

Then, he employs all sorts of run blitz schemes and disguised underneath coverages, and on long 3rd downs, he likes to put a bunch of linebackers across the line of scrimmage with a single big defensive tackle. That allows him to disguise coverage and rush schemes in a way that quarterbacks rarely see.

When Sam Darnold said he was "seeing ghosts," that's what he meant. He literally didn't know what he was looking at before the snap or during the play, and he got beat, 33-0.

Belichick is going to try to overload Dak's brain the same as he did Darnold. It worked brilliantly last year against Mahomes and Goff, who were just shaking their heads. Wentz found out last week. He likes to call plays with no rhyme or reason, sometimes as if he's giving up plays here and there on purpose to instill a false sense of confidence. Then, he checkmates them later when they think they know what they're looking at.

The guy is just freaky brilliant at this.

However......

If Dallas can effectively run the ball, it will destroy much of Belichick's game plan, much like Baltimore did to them. Or, if Cooper can beat Gilmore consistently, it will muddy the whole scheme as well. But if neither of those things happen, he can can confuse and frustrate young Dak into seeing Darnold's ghosts.

Also....

The Patriots aren't running away from people these days, so if mistakes and turnovers can be avoided, the Cowboys should be in this game for the full four quarters. Player for player, I think Dallas has an advantage in a long game, except at quarterback of course where Brady trumps all late in games.

Dallas needs to dig deep into the playbook. Don't play safe or conservative. Run the ball and the clock, but not with just the typical plays everyone knows. Lots and lots of motion. Screens and quick throws, just like the Patriots. Lots of Pollard and Jarwin. Let it loose.

I'm really looking forward to this one.

I’ll see your BB worship and I’ll raise you the greatness of Jason Garrett

anyway, @Dre11 has told us that coaching is meaningless and never makes a difference and it is all about execution and no coach deserves that more than Garrett

Huh?

So Dak has started 51 games, but he's not a veteran yet?

LOL

Actually, by definition, a vet is any player who's not in his rookie season as a rostered player. A "seasoned" vet is somebody who has seen considerable action in games for a considerable time.

Dak is a seasoned vet.
