Why would Belichick do that? Jerry would never allow him to be the de facto GM like Kraft does.

Bill Belichick.

"If only I could find a job where the owner picks the players, gives press conferences, gives out the injury report in radio interviews, calls for a super bowl season every training camp and holds his own pc after every game I could finally find some success in this league"

Jerry seems up to something. Two things stood out yesterday.

Jerry was especially sharp with his comments about coaching yesterday after the game. I found that odd for him, especially after losing a game on the road to the almighty Patriots in horrible weather conditions. He normally puts forward a more positive demeanor to the cameras. The Patriots aren't the Jets, and he wasn't like this after the Jets game.

So why this time and not others? Perhaps there are two reasons.
  • I think he's pissed about these stories of Garrett going to the Giants. No doubt that Garrett's agent is sending smoke signals out there with Garrett limping along on a lame-duck contract. After standing behind Garrett for so long, I think Jerry feels betrayed by that. It reminds of when Jimmy openly talked about the Jacksonville job in the 1993 season. That really upset Jerry, who issued the now famous "Any one of 500 coaches could " proclamation.
  • Is Jerry making a play for Belichick next year? Notice how over-the-top Jerry has been lately in lathering Bill Belichick with praise. He's telling stories about missing out on an opportunity to hire him back in the day. He blew mountains of sunshine up Belichick's backside after the game yesterday, claiming it's impossible to out-coach him.
The longstanding rift between Belichick and Kraft, and Belichick and Brady, is well documented. That place is said to be a miserable place to be these days. Could Jerry be looking to re-do the Parcells magic, especially in his aging state with such a talented roster assembled?

We talk all the time about Payton, Riley, Meyer, etc, but there is no more sure thing out there than bringing Belichick in here.

And do you not also find it intriguing how complementary Belichick was of Dak and the ability of this roster and coaching staff? Might he want to come in here and keep some of these coaches on board and take a run with this group? He's no spring chicken either, so if he did leave for another job, the Cowboys offer a roster that doesn't require rebuilding.

Something feels up with all this.

While Belichick respects Jerry, i.e. he's done a lot for the league and lined everybody's pockets with cash, no way in hell he coaches for this meddlesome nitwit and his equally incompetent son.

I can't see BB working for a guy with his own radio spots (and son), and who calls out the coaching 5 minutes postgame (no matter how right he is). It's called culture. this franchise resides near the bottom in that regard, BB's current employer near the top.

Bill is 67, and Brady seems determined to play several more years.

Brady can be "Determined" as much as he wants, Bill doesn't have to go out and take hits - Brady does.

And you bring up Bill's age like he will want to come to a new team and rebuild it to fit his style. Why would he do this? He just has to wait for Brady to retire and do his thing. But I don't think Bill cares about what you're saying, I think he believes what he has done with Brady, he's also the reason they are winning this season with his defense. Their first 3 Super Bowls also came because of his defenses while Brady was a great player at the time, he didn't come into his own until around 2007.

Bill is not coming to Dallas. You're thinking too much.

Or....

"I took the most storied NFL franchise that hadn't won anything since before the internet and won a Super Bowl my first year. I did what Bill Parcells couldn't do at New England, then I did what Bill Parcells couldn't do at Dallas."

About the only appeal for Belichick that I can see in this fantasy is to come in and succeed where his mentor Parcells failed and that's winning a Super Bowl with these lunatics.

Bill will love the draft cam and the lunch stories while Jerry high fives some local insurance ceo who is in there to watch after Jerry overrules everyone and takes Dorance Armstrong the second.

Btw, this is the 3rd time this year that Jerry has flooded praise upon the winning coach vs Dallas
Not the first time

He has not been subtle at all this year
  1. Sean Payton after the Saints beat us
  2. Mike Zimmer after the Vikes beat us
  3. Now BB

Zip to do with Belichick.
Everything to do with Garrett

there is zero chance that means anything because he has beaten the cowboys a million times while in ny, cleveland and new england. I highly doubt he holds the cowboys in high esteem.

Not many people think of this city or organization the way they think you do and Bill is a northeastern guy and living in this area probably has zero appeal.

Belichick will retire with the Patriots. This is the best defense Bill has had in years, he isn't going to be abandoning this or Brady for Jerry Jones and Dak Prescott lol
not so fast.....until Belichick proves he can win a superbowl as a HC with more than one franchise, he ain't nothing! Going to Dallas is a must for him to cement his legacy, and he knows that!!! /s

maybe Jerry was just hammering the point home about his own coach's ineptitude. Prop the other up to make Garrett look bad?

BB has clearly indicated that he feels Dak is a very good QB.
