You mean, we were spoiled by the Landry years. Landry years went 19 years not just 5 like Johnson's years.=========
Those Dallas fans out there that actually have seen the Cowboys make it to NFC title games and even Superbowls know what is going on the past 25 years is unacceptable. The Dallas Cowboys W-E-R-E what the New England currently A-R-E ! ! !
So true. Used to be who will we play in the NFC championship was a near given. Getting to and winning a SB a topper. We were spoiled by the Johnson teams.
They had it all. Special teams. How about Kenny the Shark Gant as gunner. He'd drop the returner for very short, or no gains. Watch ours now. The opposing team is
always in front of us taking a bead on the returner, and the way we stall on field positions the punters are usually putting us minimally inside the 20...
Defense was fast and filled the gaps, not any of this " rush man" play the run on the way to the QB and leave holes that opposition gets through and has blockers downfield.
Dez Bryant was one.....
Dez Bryant was one.
I'd say actually...Charles Haley wasWhat do you mean funny, he was the heart and soul of that team.
Ok you're trolling now, good night.I'd say actually...Charles Haley was
I'd like to hear what Randall cob would have to say....a seasoned vet, who has seen a few things
Blasphemy. His hair never bounced.I used to watch Jimmy out chewing their ***** at practice. Finger in the face hair bouncing chewing.
8.
that's the great bill parcells. and he left this team with 13 pro bowlers. hardly swiss cheese. singletary retired in 2008. salary cap has been around since 1994. but his screaming didn't help as a coach of the 49ers.
What do you think most of the good teams would have done with Gregory the first time be screwed up? What do you think Johnson or Parcells would have done with a player choosing to get high over his career and his teammates? What do you think most good teams would have done with a player that killed another player from drunk driving?
Someone creates the culture of the team. Most owners and GM's depend on the coach to do that. If they don't keep Bennett, as outspoken as he is, aren't you looking forward to what he has to say?
Is this the same Irvin that stabbed a team mate in the neck because he sitting in his chair before a haircut?
Blasphemy. His hair never bounced.

Sure it will not happen because Micheal Bennett doesn't want to play for a DIVA organization (IE: Dallas), but the last time the Cowboys had a player that would rip into the Cowboys, when they didn't play up to championship level, was Micheal Irvin ( and Jimmy Johnson). Currently, this team is made up of clapping puppet on the sideline and players lend encouragment/support/sympathy. Basically, the millennium way of live. Don't offend anyone and hurt someone's feelings. The saying of spare the rod and spoil the child is relevant with this Cowboys team the past 25 yrs.
What made the Baltimore Ravens a tough team in their Superbowl years---Ray Lewis and he would put his foot into his players butts to play better.
Chicago Bears had Mike Singeltary. New York Giants had Bill Parcells & Lawrence Taylor.
Bill Belicheck doesn't put up with it either. It is Belicheck's way or you are gone.
Has there been a player on the Dallas Cowboys--since Irvin/Johnson--that would be the a ticked off leader?
Bingo. Dallas needs to resign Bennett more than Byron Jones. Leadership/Alpha dogs are huge
Go research it. Of course it wasn't publicized because there was a lot that was swept under the rug during those days.I've been a Cowboys fan since the day they came into the league and I don't remember ever hearing anything about Irvin stabbing anyone waiting for a haircut.
.
Dez the diva tried to be that, but he had effort issues.
he did. it was Everett mcIver, an offensive lineman. at the time, Michael was under probation for his cocaine charges, Id the incident could have sent him to prison. jerry told chan gailey to shut up about it and don't say a word. jerry ended up paying mcIver a couple million not to press charges. doctors said if the wound had been just a inch in another direction, mcIver would have bled to death. the incident was because ivin jumped line to get a haircut and McIver took exception. google it.I've been a Cowboys fan since the day they came into the league and I don't remember ever hearing anything about Irvin stabbing anyone waiting for a haircut.

The fact the GM is not a "football guy" isn't really a big deal - many GM's are business people who happen to be in the football business. The problem is that the Cowboy's GM sticks his nose into areas beyond what a typical GM does, and he is able to do that because he is also the owner, and therefor cannot be questioned within the organization.A motivational speech is nice and all, but this team needs actual football people in charge, not oil wildcatters and their puppets.
....what about the BFF.....JWitt?I thought Zeke would be a tone setter especially after what did in college with winning. But I was wrong.
