he's scared to put any pressure on the left leg. he's always diving at the play making sure his left leg is safe from harm.

But now he's just getting out of the way of a lot of contact, but he still likes to run back 10 yards and swipe the ground for the look at me crap.

Exactly...……….the problem is that he has no lateral rotation of the knee, as a result he has very bad change of direction ability.

He also favors the leg quite a bit, if you watch tape you will notice he always approaches a tackle with his off leg and then dives instead of wrapping up for fear of torsion on the knee.

Look, I get that it is a good feel good story and all, but the tape doesn't lie. That leg is affecting his ability to play the game, that is just a fact.

Kris Richard is the issue....not the players.
I tend to agree with you. I watch these games and over half the time this defense watches the snap of the ball and starts to move east and west waiting to see what hole the RB is gonna hit and suddenly a G is plowing into Smith as the RB goes by. Then the whole team turns and goes into chase mode. Its so painful to watch. On the other hand when the team gets too aggressive and blitzes there are players not playing containment and the screen passes can turn into big plays. The whole defensive scheme is a mess with no disguise and poor tackling they are always on their heels. I blame the coaching more than the players.

A thread like this is the epitome of the phrase "Ignorance is bliss"

Smith, Vander Esch, and Lee have all struggled this yr for one reason. They arent getting the protection of the interior DL. This is the basis of the defense. What makes it work. The Colts provided the blue print of how to expose the scheme from a guy who was the LBers coach(Eberflus). The coaches havent changed anything since then.

The DL is overaggressive by design which allows them to be washed out of the play easily. Which leaves the LBers exposed to blocks.

Now its not all bad coaching, as all 3 have missed tackles so some blame is 100% on them aswell.

But its just like in the run game, the trenches are leaving other parts of the scheme exposed.

It amazes me how much some of you dont know about the team you root for.
Your opinion should mean nothing around here after you posted this nonsense

I agree with Aikman but he has zero right to criticize any way its run. He was part of the era where the Cowboys were a bunch of Coke and prostitute addicts. He didnt seem to have a problem with that.

You are just another nauseating homer that bashes anyone that criticizes this team

Jaylon runs around blockers instead of taking them on. Unless he shoots the correct gap, he's not making the tackle.
Even if he wildly runs into the correct gap, and the RB doesn't move slightly left or right, even still it's a 50/50 proposition. Once every 6 games he'll make full contact and we'll see it highlighted all over Twitter

I remember reading this. I was thinking...am I supposed to forget EVERYTHING I have ever learned about solid LBer play?
So he was trying to convince us we just signed a guy to a lucrative contract extension....to escort the ball carrier to the eventual tackler?

I never understood his logic. For example when Covington would get pushed off his spot by either the C or a G and the RB ran right through the gap it created, xwalker would say he did what the scheme makes him do and he "did his job".

I tried liking this guy, but im done. Hes trash.

Celebrating when down 17 points in the 4th quarter

Celebrating when a player is injured as a result of his “coverage”

Acting like he picked off a pass that he clearly didnt catch and knowing a tie goes to the receiver

Clear. Eye. Doo-doo

You really can't blame him, he learned from garret seeing the carrot clap in such situations.
