I never trust the first descendent of greatness. Many more times than not I see duds.

Since everyone seems to be obsessed with finding a way to make Bill Belichick the next coach, a long shot at best, what about his son?

Steve Belichick is a model of us father. There was an incident earlier this week where he spoke to the media and if you closed your eyes you’d think you were talking to Bill.

He is currently calling the defensive plays for the Patriots even though he doesn’t officially have the defensive coordinator title.

Steve has been coaching the Patriots for 7 years and is completely bought into his father’s philosophy. And he’s only 32 - if you find some way to hire Bill, you get him for two or three years, maximum. Steve, if he starts winning Super Bowls, could be here for a decade.

Thoughts?

He probably likes working with his Dad and is getting a serious education under him...to the point where he might be the hand-picked successor down the road when Bill retires.

Sons don't always make as good of head coaches as their dad. Exhibits: Wade Philips, Rob and Rex Ryan. However Kyle Shanahan seems to be doing well.
